MARION - Come to the Spring Garden Fair which will feature gardening tips, ideas and radio show host from “In the Garden.” On Saturday, April 27, the fair begins at 10 a.m. at the Tri-Rivers Career Center. Visit with local landscape companies, greenhouses, and other gardening enthusiasts who will answer questions and sell gardening products. Admission is $5 and will benefit the projects of TWIG VI. Refreshments will be available for purchase from local vendors. OhioHealth Marion General Hospital’s TWIG VI/Garden Club of Marion is hosting the fair. This volunteer organization suports the mission of Marion General by providing and caring for the rose beds surrounding the hospital and the memorial garden near McKinley Park. At 2:30 p.m., listen as featured guest speaker Ron Wilson, host of “In the Garden with Ron Wilson,” offers a casual discussion about “yardenings.” He will share a few timely tips, talk about container gardening, new plants and products, and help answer your gardening questions. So bring your questions for "the yardboy." Ron Wilson is the host of the American nationally syndicated talk radio program "In the Garden with

Ron Wilson" which airs from 6AM to 9AM (Eastern Time) Saturdays on many stations owned by Clear Channel Communications. The show originates from WKRC Cincinnati, Ohio. Kellie Pickler TIFFIN - See Kellie Pickler at the Ritz Theatre on Saturday, April 27. The live concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are now on sale, ranging from $40 - $75. This young woman is first and foremost a force of nature, known for following her restless small-town dream to the upper reaches of the music world. Kellie Pickler was first recognized as one of the six finalists in the fifth season of the popular reality TV show American Idol. She is currently a favorite contestant on the show, “Dancing with the Stars.� (Good luck Kellie!) While on tour with Idol, Pickler recorded her first album, which firmly established her in the country music industry. Her breath-of-freshair personality took her to the top with hits including "Red High Heels," "Don't You Know You're Beautiful," "Best Days of Your Life" and "I Wonder." Mansfield Symphony MANSFIELD - The Mansfield Symphony will celebrate one of the greatest classical composers in history at the Renaissance Theatre on Saturday, April 27th at 8 p.m. with the Mansfield Symphony Concert Ode to Joy: Bravo Beethoven!, part of the Mansfield Motor Group 2012-2013 Renaissance Season. Music Director Thomas Hong will take the podium for an unforgettable season finale featuring Beethoven’s popular Symphony No. 9. Audience members will recognize the setting for this familiar work as “Ode to Joy”. In addition, two other largescale works by the composer will be performed, “Hallelujah” from Christ on the Mount of Olives and the Fantasia for Piano, Chorus, and Orchestra. Dalton Derr, as well as pianist Amy Yang of Philadelphia. Soloists for the 9th Symphony will be Shannon Dooley, Soprano, Pittsburgh; Lori Turner, Mezzo-Soprano, Mansfield; Nathan Farrington, Tenor, Los Angeles; and Dmitrie Lazich, Baritone, Pittsburgh. “This will be an incredible concert. Our Chorus Director Dirk Eachus has done a really fine job of growing and preparing our Chorus for these challenging pieces, and the audience will see a lot of familiar faces onstage for this event. Michelle Cann Guest Pianist Performs Bach, Debussy, Chopin and More on April 21 ASHLAND -- Ashland University Department of Music will present a guest artist recital with pianist Michelle Cann on Sunday, April 21, at 7:30 p.m. at the Elizabeth Pastor Recital Hall located in the Center for the Arts. The concert is free and open to the public. Cann’s program will begin with Johann S. Bach’s Partita no. 1 in B-flat Major, BMV 825, followed by Claude Debussy’s Images, Book I; and Elinor Remick Warren’s Concert Transcriptions of Three Stephen Foster Melodies including “Jeannie with the Light Brown Hair,” “Beautiful Dreamer” and “De Camptown Races.” After a brief intermission, Cann will conclude with Frederic Chopin’s Sonata no. 3, op. 58. Beginning her studies on piano at the age of seven, Michelle Cann has since placed in various state, national and international competitions including the Music Teacher’s National Association Competition, the International Russian Piano Music Competition, the Gilmore Piano Foundation Competition and the Blount Young Artists National Competition. At the age of 12 she appeared on NPR station WUSF 89.7 Tampa/St. Petersburg with her sister Kimberly, also a concert pianist, and later had the opportunity to perform on the nationally broadcasted radio show, From the Top, hosted by pianist, Christopher O’ Riley. She also was featured as the premier performance on WRTI 90.1 Philadelphia's new series, In Recital. She made her orchestral debut at the age of 14 and has been invited to perform with various orchestras including the Florida Orchestra, Tampa Bay Symphony, Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Cleveland Institute of Music Symphony Orchestra. Most recently, Cann was selected to perform with current students and alumni including Roberto

Diaz, president of the Curtis Institute of Music in both Beijing and Shanghai, China, and Seoul, Korea. She also was invited to perform Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue with the New Jersey Symphony last March. Cann received her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music from the Cleveland Institute of Music and is currently a student of Robert McDonald at the Curtis Institute of Music.
