# 225, HRBR 1st Block (Below Bank of India / Opp Vision PU College)

Keep our planet green... Recycle plastic Sri Kalyana Maha Ganapathi Temple, Kalyan Nagar announces YAJUR VEDA SAMHITA YAGA .....Move over Cubbon Park Aquarium…there is a competitor to you in Bangalore! Bangalore’s biggest Aquarium or rather a supermarket (Aqua-market) has been set up in our neighborhood! Welcome to VARSHA AQUAMAX on 100 feet Road, HRBR 1st Block…all of 3000 sft that houses A to Z of fishes! This exclusive supermarket is dedicated to Aquariums and Aquarium products and is virtually a one-stop-shop. ..... Says a beaming Prakash, Proprietor “Chennai is the hub of Aqua products in South India. But, since Bangaloreans have always welcomed new concepts with open arms…we wanted to set up the biggest shop for aqua products in our city. Once a customer walks in…he should be able to buy anything and everything related to aqua products”. .....The store is akin to a supermarket. Neatly arranged shelves that houses aqua products to aquariums to live plants to artificial plants to fish food to medicines and then the lovely fishes…this has it all! Varsha Aquamax is the sole distributor of ‘AQUASSTAR’ (a popular name that deals with aqua products) in Karnataka and has also tied up with leading Aquarium manufactures like ‘Ocean Free, Sunsun and R S Electrical’ to distribute aquariums (wholesale/retail) in the state. And the fishes…you name it! They have it! Vaastu fishes like Arowana, Feng-Shui Fish along with Goldfish/Angelfish/Fighters are fast selling! .....Adds, Prakash “We have both Fresh water and Marine water fishes in our store… And the prices are very reasonable. You could buy a Goldfish for 20 rupees, a bowl for 500 rupees…add in a few decorative elements (gravel)…your small aquarium is ready!”

Air Stones, Bubble Walls, whole range of filters, Pond Pumps, UV Sterilizers, Automatic Fish Feeders, Heaters, Lighting equipment are all available in plenty! So are the various types of Fish food. Floating pellets, Cichlids, Flakes, Specialty Food, Color Enhancers…the list is endless! The range of Fish Medicines…this supermarket has is bewildering! From constipation to liver disorder…which fishes are prone to…medicines are available! Also, this aqua-market has corals, sea-horses and many endangered species made out of fiber…since having them live is banned in the country! .....Varsha Aquamax caters to all sections of society; Individuals, Retailers, Dealers and Corporates. Another highlight is that for BULK ORDERS (Retailers/Corporates) the prices of Aquariums are that of Chennai plus the transportation costs! They also undertake maintenance of Aquariums at a nominal price (depending on the size). .....Sumps up, Prakash “After, we have set-up this aqua-market…scores of children drop in the evening just to watch these fishes! It is slowly turning into a museum…I guess! But, the point is…we would like to take this hobby to the next dimension, with this Aqua-market offering all under one single roof”. .....So next time…your child (or you) wants to look at the beautiful fishes you could either go to Cubbon Park or visit Varsha Aquamax! Alaeshveebam VS Srinivaas avs77@yahoo.com

.....The highlight of the aquariums sold here is that the GLASS is well rounded, unlike others, where pieces of glass are fixed to the base unit. In the event of glass-breakage…all you need is to change the glass instead of the entire set! This has been possible by the latest innovations in glass-bending technology!

.....Colleges have started with a bang and students can be seen in all the colors of spring. Along with juggling their busy schedule of classes, submitting assignments and hanging out in the canteen, college students manage to accessorize themselves by sporting the latest trends and even create a few fads!

according to the attire and mood. By sporting colorful, attractive bangles in bright shades and patterns one can add a much needed dash of color! Girls wear their attitude on the wrists by using these wooden bangles in unusual designs and give the casual yet chic look with very little effort!

.....After metal, glass, lac, terracotta now it's wooden and silk thread woven bangles that are in vogue. Available in stunning designs and extraordinarily beautiful colors, textures and designs, they are definitely an eye-catcher. This is a trend that is fast catching up with the city's young population as the girls on campus sport these chunky bangles.

.....“Wooden bangles come at a cheaper price when compared to metal or other kind of bangles. Besides, they also have variety of designs to match with all the kind of my dresses especially my kurtas,” says another college-goer Deepa.

.....Thin bangles are a passé. Now it's big, chunky, colorful wooden ones that is now the best way to add that 'wow' factor to your look. These bangles that are in bigger and funkier avatars now go with almost anything from kurtis to mini skirt. Pair them with denim and a tee shirt or casual skirts in the infinitely cool black or in cheerful, bright colors to give that casual look. ..... Ayesha of NMKRV College says, "Wooden and silk thread are the hottest trend among our college group. They carry a certain attitude and make a bold style statement. They are also graceful and ecofriendly. And of course these single, large bangles are easier to put on than a number of ordinary ones!” .....One Page - 6

Price check (depends on size): Wooden bangles – 30 to 50 rupees / Silk thread bangles – 15 to 20 rupees .....The increasing popularity of these bangles is that they are less expensive and are easily accessible. Well, it certainly looks like this generation is keeping in vogue with the times and street fashion. Having the sense of what is popular and what is out of fashion is necessary to be in sync with the latest trends! Keerthana Thorat kee.thorat@gmail.com
