Local author, Emily Huntington visited elementary schools in Emery County. Huntington was born in American Fork. She has been telling stories since she can remember and continues to tell stories to her children. She is happily married with three boys, who mean the world to her. Huntington visited Cottonwood Elementary, Cleveland Elementary, Castle Dale Elementary and Huntington Elementary. The book is illustrated by Cleveland native, Chase Jensen. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelors of fine arts in illustration. He works as a freelance illustrator. The book, Regi the Rhino

is about a Rhino and a caterpillar who leave their tree house to master the art of kite flying. Regi is a rhino who lives in a tree house with his best friend, Oliver. One windy day, the two friends go on an exciting kite flying mission that takes a wild twist when a bird flies into their kite. Not to be deterred by the setback, Regi and Oliver become the best kite fliers in the world because of the great adventure. “Life can be fun when trying to achieve a dream,” Huntington said. “Life isn’t perfect, bad things will hapChase Jensen of Cleve- pen, but good can still come out of it. Students at Huntington Elementary were rewarded with root beer Àoats as part of the school’s goal to read one million minutes by the end of the school year. This event marked 500,000 minutes read.

Cleveland Elementary honors veterans

Cleveland Elementary held their Veterans Day Assembly on Nov. 12. Veterans from Cleveland and Elmo attended. The teachers presented a slide show with three veterans from town sharing what it means to be an American. The students sang and presented the veterans with cards.
