Shining Saints By the Numbers – Sophomore golfer Brett Burman (Bridgewater, Conn.) shot the lowest 18-hole round in program history, carding a 74 on October 8 at Gorham Country Club in the University of Southern Maine Fall Classic, helping the Saints shoot a single-day low of 314 en route to an eighth place finish.

Women’s Volleyball After becoming Emmanuel’s all-time leader in digs, senior Yun-Ting Lee was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for the Week of Oct. 1. Lee’s recognition came after the senior captain recorded 27 digs to lead the Saints to a 3-2 win over Eastern Nazarene College. Lee’s match-high dig tally put her over the four-year career mark for digs set by Jenna Ross (‘12) just last season. Lee, the 2011 GNAC Women’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Year, finished her career with 1,814 digs making her

Brett Burman Men’s Golf Emmanuel College sophomore Brett Burman was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men’s Golf Rookie of the Week twice in the month of October. Burman led the Saints to a two-day low total of 636 at the University of Southern Maine Fall Classic over the Columbus Day weekend. Burman carded an 82 on the opening day and a threeover-par 74 on day two to lead the Saints with a two-day low of 156. Earlier in the month, Burman carded the Saints’ low round at the Elms Blazer Invitational played at Westover Golf Course in Granby, Mass. The sophomore shot an incredible one-under par 35 on the front nine and finished the round with a 78, placing sixth overall in the 80-player field.

Jessica D’Ottavio Women’s Soccer For the second time during her senior season, women’s soccer goalkeeper Jessica D’Ottavio was named the Great Northeast Atheltic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week for her play during the week of October 22-28. D’Ottavio was

brilliant in the Saints’ 2-1 victory over Emerson College, making seven saves to help Emmanuel advance to the GNAC Semifinals for the first time since 2009. The win was also the 40th career victory for D’Ottavio, an Emmanuel program-record. She will also graduate with the record for career shutouts, minutes played and currently ranks second all-time in saves with 415, 19 shy of the program record. GO SAINTS! GO SAINTS! GO SAINTS!
