General Guidelines for Hosting Guests . 1.

Any resident with guest privileges is allowed to sign in guests as long as they follow the proper procedures. The resident signing in the guest is responsible for escorting the guest and for the guest’s actions while in the residence hall. 2. Residents may not sign in a guest for anyone who does not have guest privileges. 3. Commuter students may visit any residence hall during visiting hours without an escort. After visiting hours, commuter students must be signed in by a resident of the building. 4. Residents and/or guests are not permitted to sleep in any public lounges, including the floor lounges and the Foyer Lounge. 5. Parents must be signed in and escorted by a resident, but need not leave an identification card. 6. Siblings without photo IDs must be signed in using a sibling form. The form can be completed by making an appointment to talk to the Dean of Students Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. 7. Guests under the age of 17 may not stay overnight. In unusual circumstances, the Dean of Students may grant special permission (three-day notice required). 8. Emmanuel College faculty and staff must show an Emmanuel ID at the front desk. College vendors must obtain a pass from the Facilities Office. They then must show this at the front desk. 9. No guests may stay more than three consecutive nights or three nights in a week. The week begins on Monday. 10. The College reserves the right to determine the length of any visit and to remove guests. General Host responsibilities 1. Before signing in a guest(s), the host must: • Be eligible to host guests; • Present and leave a valid Emmanuel ID card with the front desk staff; • Have the guest present and leave a valid picture ID; • Ensure that the guest is not intoxicated, incapacitated by drugs, possessing a weapon, or violating any state or federal law, or College Policies. 2. After signing in a guest(s), the host is responsible for: • Signing in and signing out guest(s) from the building every time they enter and exit; • Escorting guest(s) at all times within the residence hall; • Providing other escorts should they need to separate for a brief period of time, as guests may not be left alone in any room without a resident escort; • Ensuring that guest(s) abide by all regulations of the College; and assuming all sanctions due to infractions committed by their guest, including restitution for damages.
