Mixed media course helps learner socialise & rekindle artistic side
I suffer with fibromyalgia and this has prevented me from getting out of the house with any real frequency. I have had a lot of pain throughout my whole body and I decided to make the effort to get out and do a course to help me back in the world again. I heard about the pattern cutting and dress design course from my sister who had also joined the course. I have done a sewing courses a few years ago and decided to do the course, mainly to develop my pattern cutting skills. I enjoy coming to class and learning new skills. I have also enrolled on the mixed media art class and feel the courses are helping to keep me active. I look forward to coming to the classes every week and think the WEA is a wonderful organisation. I have helped to promote the WEA creative course through Facebook which has resulted in some of my friends wanting to join next term. The course has helped me make new friends, get out of my house and helped me partially overcome physical difficulties and has brought me back to my artistic life.
