RACE DESCRIPTION This two miles handicap hurdle race has been designed for three-year-olds and upwards which are rated from 0 to 140. This race is additionally open to horses rated 141 and 142. In most National Hunt handicaps, there is a minimum weight of 10st so any horse whose official rating would allocate them less than that still has to shoulder that burden. The horses that fall into this category are said to be racing from ‘out of the handicap’ – usually a distinct disadvantage.

PLAY SMARTER

ROMEO BROWN had eased in the weights and benefited from a positive ride when ending a long losing run for Sue Smith at Hexham 17 days ago. The handicapper has reacted, but he looks a player nevertheless if replicating that here. Haafapiece, who resumed winning ways himself over further here in October, rates next best, ahead of No Risk des Flos. TIMEFORM PREDICTION: 1.ROMEO BROWN 2.HAAFAPIECE 3.NO RISK DES FLOS (FR)
