RACE
from tote Ten To Follow Jumps Season Opener - Newbury Racecourse - Thursday 5th November 2020
by Weatherbys
As we prepare for our first jump fixture of the 2020/2021 season, I am sure none of us quite imagined six months ago that we would be faced with the prospect of the upcoming jumps season being run in front of empty grandstands with no crowds.
What a strange and challenging time we are all experiencing and, for us here at Newbury Racecourse, we feel immensely sad about not being able to welcome you all in person. However, we remain positive that we are able to continue racing behind closed doors, with our ongoing thanks to all the stakeholders and horsemen for their support and patience during this time and what an interesting eight race card we have on offer today; including the Pertemps Network Beginners Steeple Chase won last year by three-time Grade 1 winner, Champ. Our thanks to today’s sponsors, the tote, Pertemps Network and Indzine. Your continued support of Newbury Racecourse is much appreciated, and we look forward to being able to welcome you back in person very soon. To all the owners with runners, we are so sorry we are unable to offer you the full Newbury ownership experience following the latest government restrictions and thank you for your continued support and for running your horse with us. Please make the most of our digital racecard where you will find further details about this season’s tote ten to follow, which launched on 2 November, with some helpful hints on how to select your stable and remember you can join us from home with all races broadcast on Racing TV. Stay safe.
