PLAY SMARTER UNIVERSAL ISLAND makes a quick switch to handicaps in a weak race and she promises to be well suited by the step up in trip, so she’s worth a chance to make a successful handicap debut off a lowly mark. Her stablemate Milnese Rose is in reasonable form and could pose the main threat.

HORSE CARE AT PLUMPTON
At every race meeting at Plumpton there are three specially qualified Equine vets appointed to look after the welfare of all horses in action. During a race two vets follow the action from the centre of the course and can attend a casualty in the same response time as the Paramedic team responsible for human casualties. The third vet is based at the Stable Yard where a close check is kept on all horses, especially those returning after a race.
If you have concerns about the integrity of British racing or the wellbeing of the sport’s participants, human or equine, please contact RaceWISE. Anonymous reporting.
