NEWMARKET
WELCOMES YOU
Welcome to Newmarket for the last of our racedays held here at the July Course.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsor for today, Jenningsbet, for their generous support. We are delighted to welcome them back to Newmarket Racecourse this weekend, and encourage racegoers to head to the winners enclosure before the first race to listen to the Punters Panel, where you can hear their tips for the day. We would also like to take this time to thank Tattersalls for their generous and ongoing support. Today we host the Newmarket Town Plate, which will be run after the last race and is run in memory of Julie Cecil, and sponsored by Goldings & Powters. Held for the first time in 1666, the race was instigated by King Charles II who also won the first running. The King stated that the race should be run ‘forever’ and with this year being the 352nd running, we might just be on track! Alongside the action on the track, there is a free bouncy castle and face painters for our younger racegoers in the Garden Enclosure, so make sure to head down and explore. Looking back, it has been a spectacular summer here at the July Course once again. From Rob Hornby’s Group One double at the Moët & Chandon July Festival, to our Newmarket Nights, including the sold out Pete Tong’s Ibiza Classics, we have enjoyed welcoming racegoers throughout the summer. We now look ahead to Gold Season at the Rowley Mile, where we will see some of the future stars in action, including in the Group One Darley Dewhurst Stakes and the Group One bet365 Fillies’ Mile. Tickets for all these racedays are available on our website. I do hope you have a very enjoyable afternoon with us, and I wish all the horses and their connections the very best of luck. Best wishes,
SOPHIE ABLE
General Manager of Newmarket Racecourses
