Sixth Race

Good afternoon and welcome to our Racing TV Raceday, the first of two great days of racing here at Hamilton Park, followed tomorrow by our G4 Claims Glasgow Stakes Racenight where nearly £125,000 of prize money will be up for grabs.

Our thanks to Racing TV and the European Breeders Fund for their much-appreciated sponsorship of today’s races. We are proud to say that every pound given in sponsorship goes straight to our prize money, which has helped us offer record prize money of £1.64M this year.

Today is Racing TV’s annual Club Day at Hamilton Park where we invite local subscribers as well as Pubs and Clubs to come along and enjoy a day’s racing. Racing TV is our dedicated racing channel and is available online and on Sky channel 424. It’s owned by the racecourses, and they play a big part in helping us deliver each and every event to screens across the UK and beyond, and most importantly returning profits back into racing for the good of the sport. If you’ve not tried it yet, then why not download Racing TV’s free mobile app for a taste of their service featuring all of today’s races with tips from Timeform.

On the track today we’re sure to see some excellent racing across the card. The 3.25pm feature race, the Class 4 Welcome to Racing TV Club Members Handicap, looks like a competitive contest with four of the six declared runners holding previous wins here. Let’s Be Lucky Racing are double-handed in the race with the Jim Goldie-trained Shine on Brendan and Havana Party, trained by Iain Jardine Both hold multiple wins at Hamilton Park however both were beaten here by Iain Jardine’s Bashful at our season opener in May under Andrew Mullen, who once again takes the ride having picked up two winners on Saturday

Elsewhere on the card it’s great to be welcoming runners from Newmarket with the William Haggastrained Unlimited taking on Roger Varian’s Botanical as part of a strong field of eleven in the 3.55pm Racing TV HD On Sky 424 Novice Stakes. Botanical will carry the familiar yellow and black silks of owner Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum who’s two previous runners this year won their respective races. His most famous Hamilton Park winners are undoubtedly Postponed and Defoe, both of whom went on to win multiple races at Group level having won tomorrow’s feature race, the EBF Glasgow Listed Stakes early in their careers.

It’s back-to-back racing for us here with tomorrow’s G4 Claims Glasgow Stakes Racenight where as well as the fantastic racing action, we’ll be celebrating the music of two of Scotland’s greatest music artists with the incredible Simple Minded and Deacon Blue’s tribute bands. Tomorrow evening also features our highest-grade race of the season, the British EBF 40th Anniversary Glasgow Listed Stakes featuring Godolpin’s Chesspiece as well as Circle of Fire who is owned by HM The King and HM The Queen. Four of the five runners are rated above 101 so this is sure to be a high-quality renewal.

Kind regards,

ASHLEY MOON, RACECOURSE MANAGING DIRECTOR
