Trifecta Race

Finished last of 16 on her racecourse debut at Limerick last month and will likely find handicaps give her more chance of success in time Best watched for now Star Rating 1

Placed in three of six

She’s posted some creditable efforts in defeat of late and, although some improvement is required to be successful, a similar bid could see her involved once more

Gained experience from her opening bid over 5f at Navan recently, nevertheless, she requires significant improvement to be involved in the finish in a race of this nature Star Rating 1

Unplaced in both starts. There was more encouragement to be gleaned from her fifth-placed finish over 7f at Gowran in August, but the daughter of Bungle Inthejungle would make more appeal over a stiffer test.

Rating 3

There was a lot to like about her finishing effort when third on her debut here in June last year and she shouldn’t be underestimated now dropped in trip with the hood removed. Star Rating 4

Unplaced in both starts. Hasn’t been devoid of promise in those two appearances, although she looks up against it and is likely to prove more competitive once receiving a handicap mark. Star Rating 2

Yet to place in three starts. Posted a fair fourth on her return at Gowran earlier in the month and the three-year-old could sneak into the places if building on that performance Star Rating 3

Unplaced in all three starts. Lost little in defeat when weakening late on into fourth at Naas last time and she’s one to be strongly interested in down in trip Star Rating 5

Placed once in two starts. Surpassed market expectations when third at Leopardstown earlier in the month, but she would make more appeal faced with a stiffer test and is perhaps best watched. Star Rating 2

NATION (-)

Br Br f Sioux Nation (USA) - Deira Miracle (TStrap) F

B Highpark B/Stock Ltd & Akuna B/Stock Ltd

Dam unraced. Possesses enough speed in her pedigree to think that she can prove effective over this distance and the market should guide to expectations on debut. Star Rating 2

11 NELDA (-) 3 9 3 (129) (13)

Br B f Dark Angel - Choose Me F

B Owenstown Bloodstock Ltd

A full-sister to Persuasive, who won six times at 1m, including a Group 1 race Related to some very smart types and, although she may relish a longer distance, she merits respect on her opening bid. Star Rating 3

12 OSTRAKA (-) 3 9 3 (129) (9)

Br B f Profitable - Ostatnia F

B E Kopica and M Rosenfeld Ronan Whelan J

O Mrs Garrett Freyne M Halford & T Collins (Conyngham Lodge) T

Cost €95,000 as a yearling and shares her page with plenty of winners, but the daughter of Profitable faces a tall order on her first appearance at the races. Star Rating 3

Placed once in three starts. Heading in the right direction and a similar level of performance as her recent runner-up effort at Cork should see her involved once more One for the shortlist. Star Rating 4

Placed once in two starts. Found only a subsequent winner too good at Gowran last time and, although she isn’t one to rule out given her current form, she would make slightly more appeal over further Star

Placed once in two starts. Failed to justify favouritism on her stable debut for Joseph O’Brien at Cork last month and she will need to improve to score here Star Rating 3

Placed once in two starts. Offered signs of encouragement when third on her debut at Cork in April, but a bounce back is required after finishing down the field at Sligo subsequently Star Rating 2 worn by No 10, No 14. Visor worn by No 2.

Probable Starting Prices - 4/1 Danvers Gold, 9/2 Machnamh, 6/1 Roaming Star, 7/1 Saturn Seven, 8/1 Daisy Jones, 10/1 Sibyl Charm, 12/1 Hope And Innocence, 14/1 Inablink, Nelda, 16/1 Miracle Nation, Ostraka, Thunder Dance (GB), 25/1 Mimosa Park, 50/1 Giocoso, 66/1 Contradanza, Dark Willow 2022 - 1st My Eyes Adore You 2nd Aratori 3rd Lopes Gold (1 min. 12.8 sec.)

Verdict

This fillies maiden looks a tricky puzzle to solve Of those that have run, better can be expected of Jessica Harrington’s DANVERS GOLD, who put in a good debut performance to finish third to the well-regarded Never Ending Story Daisy Jones is another who could go well in a first-time visor She ran on nicely over 5f last time at Navan and the step up to 6f should suit. Keep an eye out for debutant Nelda too She’s a full-sister to Group 2 winner and Group 1 runner-up Persuasive

Curragh Comment

MACHNAMH ran her best race to date when weakening into fourth over a mile at Naas earlier in the month and Jim Bolger’s filly could gain a breakthrough success now dropped in distance. Danvers Gold offered plenty of encouragement on her third-placed debut here last June and the daughter of Galileo is feared most. Roaming Star often goes well and is respected, while newcomers Nelda and Ostraka require market checks.

WIN: MACHNAMH

DANGER: Danvers Gold
