WELCOME

A very warm welcome to the second fixture of our Season; your support is greatly appreciated. If it is your first visit to Cartmel, we are especially pleased to see you and hope you enjoy the experience.
I have always been struck by the special friendly atmosphere our supporters bring to race days at Cartmel I am sure today will be no different and on behalf of all the racecourse team, I wish you a happy and memorable day.

We introduced musical entertainment a few years ago, to add to the fun and pleasure of Cartmel Races. My hope is that we deliver in harmony today!
We are indebted to all the participants of our sport, without whose commitment and hard work there would be no racing today. I offer especially sincere thanks to Owners and Trainers who support our race programme For our part, we are proud to continue with our offer of Summer Jumps fixtures, providing for those Yards and Owners who wish to keep an interest in the Sport all year round
We have several sponsors today – my thanks go to:

Cark Manor
Molson Coors
Rothay Manor
The Family of Edna and Fred Taylor
St Mary’s Hospice

Our Sponsors at Cartmel allow us to offer a varied and rewarding programme and we are most grateful to them
It is an honour to support the various different charities whom fundraise with us each Season Today’s charity on course is St Mary’s Hospice. My family have been invoved with this hospice since its inception It is very highly valued in this community; all contributions are gratefully received
If you have any questions or feedback today, please do not hesitate to make contact with a member of our Cartmel Team

Please enjoy your day with us.

How To Place A Bet
PLACE YOUR BETS....
Betting is quite straightforward and can be fun - for as little as £2 There is no fool proof way of picking a winner; the odds and the racecard can give you a good guide but you can also have as much luck picking your horse by the name or colour of the silks.
BET IN TWO WAYS -
1. Betting with the tote - a quick, easy and friendly service You’ll find tote betting points all around the racecourse and it will give you a better choice of bets with the lower minimum stake of £2. Look at the counters for the tote how to bet guides
2. Bookies - these are all in front of the Grandstand and take only two bets TO WIN and EACH-WAY The bookies offer ‘odds’ on all the horses and you are best to shop around for the best odds. These are given in fractions, such as 8/1.
