EVENING RACING FRIDAY 11 JUNE 2021 Official programme £3.00

THE JOCKEY CLUB WELCOMES YOU

Welcome back to Aintree Racecourse for an action-packed evening of Jump racing. We are delighted to be able to welcome spectators back through the gates for the first time since December 2020. We’re looking forward to seven competitive races on the Mildmay course this evening, and would like to thank our partners of today’s races for their continued support; Racing Welfare, Racing TV and Inkerman. Racing is everyone’s sport and we are pleased to be able to support Pride month with the Racing With Pride Handicap Chase at 7.55pm this evening. Racing With Pride is the official LGBT+ network for British Horseracing - a friendly and fun community of LGBT+ individuals and allies who enjoy racing, and are passionate about it being an accepting and welcoming sport for everyone. While it is great to have so many of you back on course, as you are aware, it will be a little different to the raceday that you are used to as we have a number of protocols in place to ensure your safety, and appreciate your support and co-operation while you are with us today. For more information on the terms and conditions of entry and what to expect while you are on site with us, please head to www.thejockeyclub.co.uk/aintree. We wish all participants the best of luck this evening, and are delighted to have so many Owners on course with us. We hope you all have a great evening of sporting action, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Aintree soon.

PLAY SMARTER

A leap of faith is required in supporting VISION CLEAR given he arrives on the back of just one career victory over hurdles/a below-par effort at Warwick in May. However, he’s tumbled in the weights and with some solid efforts under similar conditions to call upon last summer, a much better showing can be expected. Fiesole, on debut for Richard Newland, State Crown and Roar are also shortlisted.

PLAY SMARTER

A competitive-looking handicap in which it may pay to side with BALLYVIC BORU. A winner from this mark at Wetherby in October, he shaped as if he’d come on for last month’s reappearance effort at Kelso and, back under Brian Hughes, a good showing is expected. A short break may have helped Jaboticaba and he is feared, ahead of Solar Impulse and veteran Duke of Navan.

Health And Safety Notice The Racecourse would be grateful if you would observe all Health & Safety requirements whilst you are at Aintree Racecourse. The emergency exits from the bars onto the grandstand steppings are painted yellow and we would request that you do not stop whilst in this area. We would also request that only those that are disabled use the disabled viewing ramp and that parents keep a close eye on all children and prevent them from climbing the running rails and getting on to the actual racecourse. Racehorse & Jockey Welfare

Weights, Pedigrees, Trainers’ Names, Descriptions, Performances and Values of races have been added for the convenience of the Public, but are subject to alteration. All horses must parade in the Parade Ring except by permission of the Stewards, but in all cases must pass through the Ring on the way to the Post. The Management reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone without assigning a reason for so doing.

The welfare of the sport’s equine and human participants is paramount to British Horseracing. All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority. The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation. The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine. BHA Officials ensure that racecourses delivers these standards. In addition Aintree Racecourse employs a minimum of three veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse. In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team. Qualified paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident involving a jockey. If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment. This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital.

Parade Ring Access In the interests of safety, access to the parade ring is strictly limited to Owners and Trainers with runners in the race, British Horseracing Authority Officials and Racecourse Officials who are on duty at the meeting and Emergency Service Personnel. Those people holding badges or accreditation that allow access to the Parade Ring are asked to refrain from entering this area unless it is absolutely necessary in the course of their business.

Photography Racegoers may take photographs for private purposes in the public enclosures. Under no circumstances may photographs taken on the racecourse be used for publication without prior accreditation being obtained. Flash photography is not permitted anywhere in the Parade Ring or Winner’s Enclosure areas, or anywhere in the close vicinity of horses.
