5 DAY ADVENTURE FRANCE

Step outside the classroom and watch your French language skills skyrocket on this adventure in Paris. Race as a team on a life skills discovery quest, hone your strategic thinking with a global citizenship challenge and dig deep on a high ropes course. When you embrace learning, there’s no limit to life’s possibilities.

DAY 1

ARRIVE IN PARIS

Sleep: Hotel

Highlights: Icebreaker and goal setting

Bienvenue en France – welcome to France! Touchdown in Paris, a global hub for fashion, arts, food and culture. You’re about to fast-track your language skills, develop problemsolving abilities and discover more about yourself.

Head to your hotel, then get stuck into an icebreaker session. This is your chance to set personal and group goals, discuss expectations and prepare for the adventure ahead.

DAY 2

LANGUAGE IMMERSION & GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP CHALLENGE

Highlights: City walking tour including Arc de Triomphe, Champs-Elysees & Louvre, global citizenship challenge

Paris is rich in history, architecture and world-famous sites. It’s time to get involved. Begin your deep dive into French culture. Take the metro to the Arc de Triomphe for a walking tour. As you stroll down the Champs-Elysees, discover more about this famous avenue. It’s hard to imagine this was once marshy, uninhabited land!

Practise your French when you grab lunch for a picnic in the Tuileries Garden. This lavish park has sculptures, ponds and an orangery. Step inside the Musee du Louvre – the world’s most visited museum – and see world-renowned masterpieces, including Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo. Learn how these treasures have contributed to France’s rich heritage.

THE ARC DE TRIOMPHE WAS COMMISSIONED BY NAPOLEON TO HONOUR HIS MILITARY VICTORIES. BUT HE WAS KICKED OUT OF FRANCE AND DIED BEFORE IT WAS FINISHED.

DAY 3

HIGH ROPES ADVENTURE

Sleep: Hotel

Travel: Transfer 1hr each way

Highlights: High ropes & zip wire courses, laser tag, personal growth reflection

Ready to leap outside your comfort zone? You’re about to take on an exhilarating high ropes and zip wire course that will test you both mentally and physically.

Start with an exciting game of laser tag – it demands teamwork and strategic thinking. Then up the ante when you strap on a harness and get ready to soar across platforms, obstacles and bridges in midair. Don’t look down!

To get the most out of the experience, you’ll need to be resilient and work together. Encourage each other to overcome challenges and push your limits.

DAY 4

LIFE SKILLS DISCOVERY QUEST

Highlights: Life skills discovery quest, Montmartre, Eiffel Tower, river cruise, personal growth reflection

Bring your A game for a life skills discovery quest through Montmartre, Paris’ steep village neighbourhood. Grab this opportunity to develop your ability to think outside the box, work collaboratively and get immersed in local culture.

Race around landmarks like the Moulin Rouge and Picasso’s house, solving clues and completing challenges. You’ll need teamwork, language skills and speed to bring home the prize.

Celebrate your success at one of the world’s most iconic monuments, the Eiffel Tower. You could book tickets and climb to the top. Hold on tight –you’ll be a staggering 276m above ground level! Learn about the history of the tower and why it’s a global landmark.

Join a cruise on the River Seine and experience Paris from the water. Reflect on what you’ve achieved and

DAY 5 TRAVEL HOME FROM PARIS INCLUSIONS EXCLUSIONS

After the best five days of your life, it’s time to travel home. Cram everything into your suitcase and head to the airport.

Check in, sit back and let it all sink in. You’ve just experienced something incredible. France has opened your eyes and taught you so much more than any textbook ever could.

You’ve been immersed in French culture, practised your language skills and explored the incredible city of Paris.

You’ve tackled a global citizenship challenge, developed your teamwork on a life skills discovery quest and leapt out of your comfort zone on a high ropes course.

These experiences will shape who you are and put you on the path to becoming a true global citizen. Prepare to return home forever changed.

EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES.

Students will be immersed in the language and culture of France, developing their ability to communicate beyond barriers, adapt to cultural differences and, in doing so, will build greater awareness of diverse global perspectives.

By spending time away from home students will learn to adapt to new and different environments, creating a sense of independence and building confidence to travel further, and for longer, in the future.

Students will complete a life skills discovery quest, collaborating with their peers, and engaging creative problem-solving skills, to achieve their goals.

Through guided activity and reflection, students will explore their emotions together with their peers, building empathy for one another and fostering the skills needed to build strong relationships in the future.

By completing a global citizenship challenge, students will learn to think creatively with consideration of ethics, to propose hypothetical solutions to global challenges.
