ORANGE COUNTY SCHOOL OF THE ARTS FOUNDATION Presents

A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT & CEO Welcome Friends! Thank you for joining us for Gala 2022: Night of a Million Dreams, presented by the Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) Foundation. I am so excited to welcome you to this evening’s celebration, commemorating 35 years of extraordinary arts education, academic success, and remarkable talent! As a tribute to this incredible milestone in OCSA’s history, our students, alumni, staff, and volunteers have truly pulled out all the stops to create an experience unlike any other. We invite you to step into a dream as our exceptional performers put on an electrifying production featuring highlights from some of the best Galas of years past. Tonight’s Gala is particularly special as we take this opportunity to look back on the first three-and-a-half decades at OCSA. Since I first walked the halls as a new conservatory instructor in 2011, I have had the privilege of witnessing the hard work and creativity of countless OCSA students. With the support of individuals like you, thousands of young artists have been encouraged to dream big and reach for the stars. Tonight, I would like to thank YOU for being here in support of our amazing students and their bold, courageous aspirations. This Gala, in addition to all Galas before it, would not be possible without the guidance and leadership of tonight’s Honorary Chairs, Drs. Sherry and Ralph Opacic. It is because of Ralph’s vision that we are all here, together in one room, on this memorable evening. I could not be more honored and privileged to carry the torch of his inspiring legacy. Sherry, an inspiration in her own right, has always been a supportive guiding light for our school community. We are so grateful that they have shared their dream with all of us. I would also like to recognize the esteemed members of our Board of Trustees, Foundation Board of Directors, and Emeritus Board, who have guided the development of OCSA throughout our history, dedicated their time, and generously supported our school. Additionally, I am deeply appreciative of our Gala Auction Task Force, corporate sponsors, table sponsors, individual ticket attendees, and performance underwriters for their willingness to give to this year’s Gala and for making a positive and lasting impact on the lives of our passionate student artists. Our phenomenal student and alumni performers are now ready to dazzle you. Get ready to experience the magic that only OCSA can make possible! All the best,

Teren M. Shaffer President & CEO Orange County School of the Arts

A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR OF OUR FOUNDATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS Good Evening, Everyone! Thank you all for joining us tonight for this year’s spectacular anniversary Gala! I am incredibly excited to welcome you to this very magical evening, as we come together to celebrate 35 years of dreams-in-the-making at Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA). I know the students, both those shining brightly on stage and those diligently orchestrating behind the scenes, have been working extremely hard to present a fantastic show, and I cannot wait to enjoy what will undoubtedly be a one-of-a-kind performance! What an extraordinary journey these past 35 years have been. From an after-school arts program to one of the nation’s best public charter schools, this unique institution provides nearly 2,300 talented and dedicated student artists with the skills they need to pursue higher education or a profession in the arts. Upon graduating, OCSA students go on to lead impactful careers in a diverse range of industries, contributing to our society in thoughtful, positive, and creative ways. This school is preparing the next generation of artists, entrepreneurs, innovators, and creative thinkers – our leaders of tomorrow. As a proud OCSA alumni parent of two daughters, I can personally attest to the outstanding education that this school provides, both academically and artistically. The level of commitment that OCSA students show to their education, coupled with their passion and artistry, never ceases to amaze me. Your support of OCSA is one of the driving forces behind the success of this school and each of its students – past, present, and future. Simply being here this evening contributes to OCSA’s ability to continue providing an unparalleled arts and academic education for each of its aspiring young artists. Collectively, we are shaping the future of our community and helping these students grow and thrive. On behalf of the OCSA Foundation Board of Directors and the entire OCSA family, thank you for your continued and generous support of this school. I hope you all enjoy this enchanting performance in honor of OCSA’s 35th anniversary! With gratitude,

Vincent J. Foley, Jr. Chair, Foundation Board of Directors Orange County School of the Arts

GALA HONORARY CHAIRS On behalf of the bright and talented students of OCSA, we would like to thank this year’s Gala Honorary Chairs for their incredible support.

OCSA was established in 1987 with the vision of Dr. Ralph Opacic – a young man inspired to bring to life an arts and academic program that would nurture the creative passions of thousands of students across Southern California. We are truly grateful to Drs. Sherry and Ralph Opacic for their dedication, enthusiasm, and visionary leadership, which has been the heart and soul of OCSA for the past 35 years. Without their commitment, none of this would be possible – not just this event, but the entirety of the OCSA experience. They have made this wonderful dream a reality, and tonight, we raise our glasses in appreciation.

GALA AUCTION TASK FORCE Thank you to the following members of the Gala Auction Task Force for graciously donating both their time and resources to support this year’s virtual and live auctions.
