cover Whitney Kibbie

is a University of Northern Iowa student from Emmetsburg, Iowa. As a senior studying art education, she thoroughly enjoys living in the Cedar Valley area and stated that the vibrancy of the community contributed to her decision to select UNI. Whitney says her painting depicts a collage of three of her favorite places in the Cedar Valley. Downtown Cedar Falls has a friendly, hometown feel offering restaurants and shopping. The flowers in the painting reflect the Cedar Valley Arboretum and Botanic Gardens in Waterloo, where one can escape to appreciate the beauty of nature; and the Cedar Valley Trail System allows people of all ages to enjoy the outdoors and be active. The Cedar Valley is home to a thriving arts community with a number of talented artists creating visual, audio, and other works that improve quality of life and visitor experiences. The Visitors Bureaus honor this tradition by showcasing selected artists as opportunities arise.

Thank you to Whitney Kibbie, for providing the image for this year's visitors guide cover.
