Art Van Furniture ‌FIRST PLACE: CARPET/FLOOR COVERINGS, HOME DECOR STORE, INTERIOR DECORATING HONORABLE MENTION: FURNITURE RETAILER Eastern Iowa’s favorite place to shop for home furniture, mattress, accessories and receive design assistance has once again been awarded the Courier’s annual honor of being voted the Best of the Best. On June 16, 2016, the former Simpson Furniture Co. turned its Coralville location into the first ever Art Van Furniture showroom in Iowa. On July 8, 2016, the 70-year-old Simpson Furniture Co. switched to Art Van Furniture at its former location in Cedar Falls. In Coralville the dynamic showroom is located at 2300 Jones Blvd., and in Cedar Falls the beautiful 40,000-square-foot showroom is at 2300 Main St. Being honored as the Best of the Best in four areas relays the message to former Simpson shoppers and those brand new to the Art Van world. Since the inception of the awarding process at the Courier, Simpson and now Art Van has received Best of the Best every year. Simpson Floor Covering Department Manager Sandy Risvold, who has been with the company for over 25 years, was excited to hear of the honor for the flooring gallery. “While we have downsized a little bit from the full Simpson days, we kept the very best products from our former showroom and have been pleased with our past customers still shopping with us,” she said. “Plus, as Art Van we are seeing an entire new group of shoppers interested in all of the new things available in the world of floor coverings. We still offer free estimates and measurement services. Free interest offers to help finance your purchases and professional installation to insure the best looking flooring project our customers take on!” 2300 Main St., Cedar Falls, (319) The two Art Van-Iowa showrooms are 266-3535 completely updated, and new, stylish fur 2300 Jones Blvd., Coralville, (319) niture and accents adorn both locations. 545-5005 toll-free (800) 962-3535 Executive Vice-President Deb Emmert, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Saturday; who oversees the Coralville operation and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday is a big part of the Art Van management www.artvan.com team, loves the change. “We fell in love with the way Art Van displays our dynamic new looks! We have warehouse what the customer sees on our styles and designs that no other stores in floor and have it available for them the Eastern Iowa display. and sales in both stores. Nicole Koelker is the visual merchandiser for ART VANIowa and she along with Kelly Ellington (company sales management) and Emmert are always “turning” items in the showrooms so new looks arrive weekly. “The looks are so varied that it is hard for us to actually “Not” buy more because we have such a fantastic offering. Being a former Simpson staffer, I am also amazed that our prices are so LOW.” Koelker describes. Both the Coralville and Cedar Falls showrooms have the Pure Sleep mattress display, featuring the Pure Sleep

diagnostic sleep rest test. The test takes no more than a minute and offers three mattress suggestions for individuals as well as couples. Jeff Mick is a managing partner and was the general manager of the former Rooms-4-Less Store. Mick started in 1998. Company President Dale Emmert and Executive Vice-President Deb Emmert are majority owners. Dale started in 1984 with Simpson Furniture and Deb has been working for over 20 years with the company. We make sure that all of our businesses follow our company mission of improving quality of life by selling great products that people need and want during difficult economics times,” said company president Matthew Schneider. “Both Neighborhood Closet and Electric Underground fit that mission.”

Neighborhood Closet

Store Managers Brody Knutson and Duane Melsh, who have both been with the company over 10 years, say people love to save money on things they need, like mattresses and furniture, and we are happy to be able to find ways for them to afford those nice things. One of those ways Neighborhood Closet saves their customers money by sourcing products as close to home as possible. For example, they have partnered with Ashley Furniture in Arcadia, Wis., and Symbol Mattress in Watertown, Wis. Then the company buys in large volumes to reduce costs even further. Our customers love the savings on the quality furniture that we sell, said the Waverly store manager. It is very rewarding knowing that we can make furniture affordable for families in the area.

Electric Underground

Electric Underground buys and sells previously owned video games, game systems and movies, and expanded into the vapor category four years ago. Last year the company changed the name of the store from VidCycle to Electric Underground to better fit the growth of the vapor category. “We see vaping as a great way to move people from the harmful effects of traditional cigarettes to what we believe is a much safer alternative to smoking,” said store manager Jake Burns. “We estimate there are over 24,000 cigarette smokers in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area and our team is on a mission to all together eliminate smoking. Anyone that has made the switch from cigarettes to vaping will tell you how much better they feel, how much better they can breathe, the elimination of the smell, plus they can vape at the fraction of the cost of smoking, making it a great product to help family budgets.” In addition to the Waterloo Electric Underground location on San Marnan in Waterloo, the company also owns a store in Fargo, N.D. In August, Great Cycle opened a third Electric Underground location in Cedar Falls, which is more focused on vapor, said store manager Mike Anderson. “We will have game systems, game tournaments and some of the great things that the Waterloo store has, but our main mission in the Cedar Falls store is to move smokers into a cleaner and healthier product that will also save them money,” he said.

The beautiful and historic downtown district of Cedar Falls is a big part of our success, and we’re proud to be on Main Street. The food at Montage is of the highest quality, with creative dishes and to-die-for desserts. But it’s the standard of service and the atmosphere that truly sets Montage apart. We love to help our customers explore new wines and expand their palates. The world of wine is always changing and growing, making it such a fun challenge. To us, locally owned means we buy fresh and local whenever possible. We treat our customers as we’d like to be treated, which is why you’ll find us working on site every night, either at Montage or our sister restaurant, the Cedar Falls Brown Bottle.

DAVID HAGEDORN; RECEPTIONIST — BERDELL SCHAULS You deserve the Best of the Best when it comes to your health care. So many families wait too long to pick up the phone and reach out for help with their health. At Cedar Valley Hospice, a team of professional and caring staff is always available to meet with families to answer questions about the disease process and eligibility. From the doctors, to the nurses and office associates, compassionate care is a way of living and working at Cedar Valley Hospice. When it comes to end-of-life care, Cedar Valley Hospice is the best choice for quality care. cial and spiritual needs of the patient and their family and also provides other support services. Anyone can make a referral. Care is provided wherever a patient resides or at the area’s only Cedar Valley Hospice Home for short-term stays to manage pain or for respite and residential care. Ultimately, the goal is to allow patients to stay in their own homes surrounded by loved ones. Rachelle Hahn of Waterloo said this made all the difference for her mother, who was always very independent. “We met with the gal from Cedar Val-

ley Hospice and she was full of information,” said Rachelle. “I had my own fear of what hospice meant, but she focused on the fact that they bring quality of life back for individuals and, in addition, help with the stress on the family. She couldn’t have been more right. One week after engaging with their care team my mother said, ‘Why didn’t we do this sooner?’” If you feel you or a loved one are not ready for hospice services, Cedar Valley Hospice also provides palliative care services for patients with a serious illness. Grief support is also available for anyone in the community, including children. They also offer the Cedar AIDS Support System, which provides case management for those with HIV or AIDS. It’s never too soon to talk with the professionals at Cedar Valley Hospice about your healthcare questions. Kimball & Beecher Family Dentistry ‌FIRST PLACE: DENTIST Kimball and Beecher Family Dentistry and its team has been recognized as Cedar Valley’s Best of the Best Dentist for several years running, and this year they are proud to celebrate Dr. Lindsey Vore. For Vore, a career in dentistry was an easy choice. Dentistry has always been a big part of her life. Her father is a retired dentist from western Iowa, her brother practices dentistry in Wisconsin and her husband’s uncle is a dentist in Hudson. Vore’s first job was working in her father’s dental practice as a teenager. She then became an assistant and worked alongside her father before pursuing a career as a dentist herself. Vore knew a career in dentistry would be personally fulfilling, while still offering her the opportunity to be active with her family and the community. Vore earned her doctor of dental surgery degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2008. Prior to that, she obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa, where she met her husband. Vore is passionate about learning and committed to giving her patients the best possible outcomes, while keeping them as comfortable as possible. Vore’s extensive post-graduate education courses have involved oral surgery, endodontics and cosmetic dentistry, including Invisalign. Vore joined the Kimball and Beecher Family Dentistry team in 2012. She and her husband love living and working in the Cedar Valley, and they know this is where they want to raise their two children. Vore has also been recognized in the past as one of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare’s Heroes Among Us after performing CPR and saving the life of a Cedar Falls man who collapsed on his morning run. She has worked consistently in their Cedar Falls location with Kimball and Beecher since joining the practice. Vore values the relationships she has built with her patients and the community. Vore, her husband and their two school-age children enjoy being active in Cedar Falls School events and community activities throughout the Cedar Valley. Vore chose to partner with Kimball and Beecher because their ethics and

Cedar Valley Eye Care FIRST PLACE: OPTICAL A team commitment to excellence in optical services and personalized customer service. An area-leading selection of frames and fashions. And an understanding of how your eyewear fits within your overall appearance. These are just a few of the reasons Cedar Valley Eye Care has been named as the voters’ clear choice for optical services in the Cedar Valley in the 2017 Best of the Best annual survey. It is the third straight year they’ve received the award. “It’s a great honor to once again be named Best of the Best by our customers in the Cedar Valley,” said Gina Allison, Cedar Valley Eye Care’s optical manager. “We truly want to thank our customers for their continued support and recognition.”

The staff of opticians at Cedar Valley Eye Care are dedicated to providing outstanding customer service as a team and catering to the person, not to the sale. Along with more than 150 years of combined experience, the group has the expertise to provide individualized optical solutions for each customer and build relationships that extend beyond selling eyeglasses. This honor also demonstrates how much

the opticians enjoy helping customers choose from brands that are unique and exclusive to the area to create their own eyeglass wardrobes. Instead of viewing eyeglasses as an accessory, the Cedar Valley Eye Care optical staff see them as part of your entire appearance and focus on finding a pair that complement you. “Our customers know that we’ll take the time to listen and learn what type of eye-

wear they’re interested in,” Allison said. “Each person has a unique personality, preference and style, and we have a wide selection to match.” This eyewear selection includes specialty lenses for computer usage and golfing, top brands like Oakley and Tom Ford, and the eye-catching prints and colors of Emilio Pucci and other luxury designers. Customers can also choose from the latest in lens technology, including digital lenses, polarized sunglasses and anti-reflective coatings. “We take great pride in our extensive inventory and in helping customers find the look that fits them,” said Allison. To experience a higher level of optical services, visit Cedar Valley Eye Care in Waterloo on East San Marnan Drive and in Cedar Falls on West First Street.

An area of interest to both home sellers and buyers is the technology changes that have impacted the ways in which residential real estate is marketed. Ericson and Page direct the deployment of technology at Oakridge. “Social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, and an upgraded interactive website are all tools that Oakridge agents utilize to facilitate making the buyer-seller connection,” Page said. Bill Colwell Ford ‌FIRST PLACE: AUTO DEALERSHIP HONORABLE MENTION: OIL CHANGE SERVICE

Bill Colwell Ford has served the Cedar Valley and surrounding areas for the past 33 years. Located in Hudson, Bill Colwell Ford wants to thank all its loyal customers for voting the dealership the Cedar Valley’s No. 1 overall dealership to do business with. Their goal is to make sure the buying process and ownership experience is simple, stress-free and non-confrontational for each of their customers — the reward is their customers’ loyalty. Bill Colwell Ford is a family-owned and -operated dealership with Bill Colwell, owner, and his son, Blake Colwell, general manager. The automotive industry runs deep in the Colwell blood line, starting when Bill Colwell Sr. opened his first used car store in Mount Morris, Ill., in 1960. The Colwell family eventually moved to the Cedar Valley, where Bill Colwell Sr. and Bill Colwell Jr. established Bill Colwell’s Auto Mart in 1975 in Waterloo. In 1984, Bill Colwell Jr. bought the Ford franchise from Keith Motor Co. and opened Bill Colwell Ford. In the past 33 years the corner of Highway 63 and Waterloo Road in Hudson has changed quite a bit. Colwell knew he would need to expand the business to accommodate the company’s growth. When the building and land directly behind Bill Colwell Ford became available, Colwell purchased it. In 2012, the renovation process began. Once the new building was completed in July 2013, the process of removing the previous dealership, which had been there since 1960, began. In October 2013, the grand re-opening of Bill Colwell Ford took place. To accommodate the needs of customers, Bill Colwell Ford opened the Cedar Valley Quick Lane Tire & Auto Center in July 2016. The Quick Lane Tire & Auto Center provides a full range of services, including oil changes, essential maintenance, tires, alignments, brakes and more for all makes and models. The service department at Bill Colwell Ford continues its regular hours to handle major repairs and warranty work. While no appointment is necessary for Quick Lane Services, customers still have the option to call or book an appointment online. “The main reason we decided to open

Blake and Bill Colwell the Quick Lane is convenience for our customers. With extended hours, no appointment necessary and a comprehensive vehicle inspection we’re able to accommodate our customers’ needs and keep providing the same great service we’ve been providing the last 33 years,” said Colwell. Bill Colwell Ford believes it is important to keep evolving as a company and stay up-to-date with customers’ needs, but there are a few things that have remained constant. In an age where people switch jobs or careers every couple of years, the dealership has three employees who have been there for the 33 years they’ve been in business. Those employees are Kurt Kienitz, assistant service manager; and Joel Peterson and Kim Johnson, automotive technicians. There are a number of other employees who have been there for more than 20 years. “I believe one of the main reasons Bill Colwell Ford has been successful all these years is because Bill treats his customers and employees with respect and fairness. He is an honest businessman who works hard,” said Kienitz. With more than three decades of hard work it’s no surprise the dealership has won its fair share of awards. Bill Colwell Ford has won numerous customer satis-

faction awards, including the prestigious President’s Award from Ford Motor Co. three times. The award recognizes dealers for excellence in customer service and satisfaction. The dealership also has been voted Best of the Best multiples times and was the only dealership in Iowa to be named a Top 150 Workplace by the Des Moines Register in 2016. The dealership credits its success to its outstanding employees. All departments are continuously trained to stay up to date with the ever-changing auto industry. As vehicle technology progresses, it requires increased knowledge and skills for automotive technicians and sales staff. Recently, Ross Anderson, service technician, completed the Senior Master Technician Program. Anderson was required to complete more than 550 hours of Ford training to achieve Ford Motor’s highest technician certification. Anderson is one of just 428 technicians in the Chicago region to hold this status. This accomplishment demonstrates the commitment Bill Colwell Ford has to employ highly trained personnel. “Our industry has changed drastically over the past 40 years, and it’s extremely important to have employees that are up to date on their product knowledge, in

both the sales and service departments. This type of commitment from our employees fulfills our customers’ expectations that they are receiving the highest level of customer satisfaction, and I couldn’t be more proud of our employees,” said Colwell. Bill Colwell Ford is also committed to giving back to the community, including raising funds for the annual Drive 4 UR School event for the Hudson Athletic Booster Club. As of 2016, Bill Colwell Ford has raised over $51,000 for the organization, and that number keeps growing. The money is used for uniforms and equipment for student athletes. Bill Colwell Ford has also worked with Cedar Valley Hospice, March of Dimes, Give 2 the Troops, Beyond Pink TEAM, Northeast Iowa Food Bank and the Cedar Bend Humane Society. “Being able to give back to those who have given us a chance to earn their business is what keeps our business going. The Cedar Valley is a great community, and we’re happy to give back and be a part of it,” said Colwell. If you are in the market for a new, preowned or Certified Pre-Owned vehicle, give Bill Colwell Ford a call or visit its new website, www.billcolwellford.com, which has thousands of pictures and inventory information. If you’re not in the market for a new vehicle, they also have an outstanding service department and the new Quick Lane facility to help maintain your current vehicle. We are redefining the way we provide care. Our emphasis is on the prevention, early detection and early treatment of disease. It is simpler, more effective and far less expensive to prevent or treat problems when they arise rather than when they have advanced. That means we emphasize primary care, regular checkups and effective care coordination from primary care across the spectrum to specialists, rehab, home care and palliative and hospice services. ‌HONORABLE MENTION: ICE CREAM

We are a local, family-owned and operated business. We have been part of the Cedar Valley for more than 25 years. We have employed thousands of people over the years and are now employing children of former employees. The Pepper’s family is huge and always expanding. One of the best parts of our job is seeing what former employees have gone on to do in their careers. Our alumni includes doctors, lawyers, journalists, teachers, athletic directors, bankers, entrepreneurs, nurses, restauranteurs, advertising executives and more. And we are responsible for dozens of marriages! When Pepper’s was first built, it was unlike anything in the Cedar Valley, or even Iowa, for that matter. Pepper’s was modeled after sports bars our late founder, Ken Stedman, had seen and visited in Florida and large cities. Pepper’s has never changed its business model. We provide quality, homemade food at reasonable prices, with

Our farm has been in the family for seven generations (153 years). When the four sons of Jay and Jeanne Hansen wanted to come back and work at the farm, we built a creamery to make milk, butter, cream, cheese curds and ice cream. Opening a retail store was a way to sell those products. We sell old-fashioned premium hard ice cream treats along with all Hansen’s Dairy products and other goods from local farmers and entrepreneurs. We want to be known as a hub for quality, local foods. We strive for excellent customer service and quality products. Our ice cream is made just 10 miles away from Waterloo in Hudson, with creamline milk from our closed herd of cows (not blended with other farms’ milk). Our ice cream is slowchurned and made the old-fashioned way. Hansen’s Dairy stores in Waterloo and Cedar Falls received the Cedar Valley King of Local Foods award last year from the Northern Iowa Food and Farm Partnership. Our farm is vertically integrated. Ridgeway True Value Hardware

Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home

‌HONORABLE MENTION: HARDWARE STORE

‌HONORABLE MENTION: FUNERAL HOME

Ridgeway True Value Hardware store has been a family business since 1974. Owned by John and Sharon Schotter for 44 years, the store specializes in retail hardware with an emphasis on power equipment. We also service what we sell. Our secret to being Best of the Best this year and in previous years is that we take time to talk to customers and do the best that we can to answer their questions and solve any problems. We try to be that place that if you can’t find it we hope to have it for you. We believe in helping customers on a one-on-one basis. We will do our best to meet your hardware needs.

We are a full-service funeral home offering everything from complete traditional funeral services, to services with cremation to follow the service, to direct cremation. At Kaiser-Corson we treat every family like they are our family. We grew up in the funeral home in Waverly, and saw what our father, James R. Corson, was doing in helping families at their most difficult time. We wanted to be part of the business started by our great-grandfather and that grew with our father.

We have a staff with 124 years of combined experience — Darren (17 years), Dean (16 years), Ryan and Jon (10 years), and Denee (7 years). Owners Carter and Steve each have 37 years in the business. We were a Best of the Best winner in 2013 and received the Waverly Heritage Days Hall of Fame award in 2000. For each of the past seven years we’ve received the Iowa Award of Funeral Service Excellence. Our staff is here 24/7 to help with whatever you need, unconditionally.

Kugler Construction ‌HONORABLE MENTION: HOME BUILDER Our goal at Kugler Construction is to provide high-quality, custom-built homes at an affordable price. We believe that we are not just building homes, but that we are also building relationships with our customers and their families that will last for years to come. Our family at Kugler Construction is fully committed to providing your family with a quality built home. A home that is Built by Family. Built for You. Kugler Construction was born in 2003, but our roots began in 1952, when Oskar Kugler, a successful German architect, brought his family to America. His first job was at a steel mill because he could not speak English. It wasn’t long before the German-speaking architect was discovered and began working in his profession in his new country. Oskar’s namesake son, Oskar Hugo, was only 16 years old when he came with his family to the United States. His natural ability in design and troubleshooting earned him much respect in the HVAC field. These two men were strong influences on Oskar’s son Bill. Mechanical abilities, hard work and a sense of family pride

were a part of every day life. This was modeled to Bill’s sons, Billy and Nick, and his daughter Jess. There was always a focus on doing your best, good enough, in fact, to be able to put your name on it. It seems like the Kuglers were always

building something. No matter what the project was, the attention to detail was unending. Every board was checked for straightness and every measurement was accurate. Many projects included the entire family — Bill, Jackie, Billy, Nick, Jess,

Papa Oskar and Nannie Audrey. When Bill and Billy made the transition to Kugler Construction it was a continuation of what both of them had been doing their entire lives. We specialize in a true custom home experience that is, by definition, one of a kind. No matter what style, type or cost of your project, we care just as much about your home as you do. Our attention to detail helps our customers consider every corner of their custom designed home. We are dedicated to helping each customer get what they want, within their budget. Young Plumbing & Heating Co. ‌HONORABLE MENTION: HEATING/COOLING Since the 1880s when The Young Coal Company started selling coal and 1903 when they harvested and sold ice from the Cedar River, Young’s has been keeping the people of the Cedar Valley comfortable. The Young Heating Company was started in 1943 by Dick H. Young and his brother, Bob Young, as an off-shoot of The Young Coal Company. The original business was selling and servicing oil burners. In the late 1940s, natural gas was introduced into the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area and the company expanded to sell, install and service natural gas burners and furnaces. They later added plumbing to better serve the home builders and home owners with a total mechanical system. With the introduction of affordable residential and commercial air conditioning in the mid 1950s, the company became a dealer and installer of York water cooled air conditioners. In 1968, the company was changed

from a partnership into a corporation and became the Young Plumbing and Heating Co., as it is known today. Through these years the company’s clientele were predominately single family residential, retail and office buildings. In 1956, Young Heating Company diversified into the commercial, institutional and industrial plumbing and HVAC business by being the successful bidder for the then-new Waterloo West High School. Today, Young Plumbing & Heating Co. is locally owned by the Young, Becker and Tink families.

It takes a lot of talented, well-trained employees to keep this size of shop going, and we couldn’t do any of it without our excellent office run by Kim Hansen and Chad Hansen, production manager. Our estimators, Charlie, Kevin and Kim,

and our parts manager, Steph, have backgrounds in repair and insurance and are more than willing to walk you through the entire repair process. Our top-notch technicians are what really set us apart from the rest. We also apply spray-in bed liners. Collision repair services started in Dan Deery’s dealership body shop until we started plans to build the Collision Center late in 1995. Technicians from both John Deery and Dan Deery’s dealerships joined forces to create this unique team of experts who have been voted Cedar Valley’s Best of the Best for seven years in a row.

We get new items in all the time, and also have tastings for wine, spirits and beer on a regular basis. In business for three years now, we felt the Cedar Valley would benefit from a locally owned boutique experience, something lacking with big-box stores. We are purveyors of fine beer, wine and spirits. We work with local and small vendors to obtain unique and specialty products that are high in quality and fair in price. We taste items before we purchase them, giving us firsthand experience with nearly everything we sell. And we thrown a mean party! In Cedar Falls, construction crews recently finished work on the first phase of a $52 million project located between Prairie Parkway and South Main Street; the final two phases will open in early 2018. With a focus on health and wellness, Prairie Wind offers residents of its 75 apartments easy access to amenities to enhance all aspects of their well-being, from physical to intellectual to social and spiritual. A lively color scheme flows through three floors of residences, featuring spacious open floor plans, full kitchens with appliances, washer/dryer, walk-in closets and a private patio or balcony – plus parking in a heated underground garage. Maintenance, housekeeping, transportation and leisure programming are included, plus a package of “Western Home Dollars” for use on meals, salon visits and more.

Jorgensen Plaza for Well-Being

Residents of Prairie Wind have attached access to Jorgensen Plaza for Well-Being, anticipated to be a new social hub for residents and the general public. Jorgensen Plaza will offer fine dining, a fast casual restaurant, pub, salon spa, Diamond Event Center, convenience store, swimming pool, walking track, exercise equipment and classroom, and outpatient rehab therapy. Weddings and other events are already being booked for Diamond Event Center

starting in June 2018, where a light-filled space offers an ideal backdrop for memorable moments. The center will offer flexible seating options for up to 400 people. The restaurants, to be open to the public, will be managed by Barmuda Company of Cedar Falls, with 30 years of experience creating destination dining for the Cedar Valley.

Restorative Suites

Restorative suites will offer three floors where 20 people on each can recover from surgery, illness or injury in a comfortable, quiet and private space, with the most up-to-date skilled nursing care and ther-

apies available. More like a hotel than a hospital, these short-term residents will appreciate their spacious, furnished rooms with private bathrooms as they regain strength and work to return home. These suites are designed in the style of the household model of care implemented in June 2015 at The Cottages, Iowa’s first free-standing “small house” nursing homes for people living with dementia. The 16 residents of each typically gravitate to the heart of the home, the open kitchen and dining room – built like a family home, not an institutional setting. On any given day along Caraway Lane, you’re likely to find residents and caregiv-

ers cooking, drinking coffee on the porch, creating art on the patio, gardening, playing piano and singing, going fishing or watching movies and munching popcorn, with their days unfolding spontaneously.

Looking ahead

A challenging environment of changing expectations – via health care reform, the move to managed Medicaid, the coming influx of baby boomers with different desires – can be viewed as a threat or opportunity. Western Home Communities chooses the latter. That response stems from the mission, vision and values of Western Home Communities: not ju st words printed on a page, but daily direction for how the organization operates, now and into the future: Western Home Communities is a charitable Christian service organization that assertively creates fulfilling lifestyles for those we serve, their families and our employees.
