Claiming process

Key purpose/benefit

To provide cervical smear taking service for anyone who is are under screened or unscreened and priority people who are due for their cervical smear.

Components of the service:

1. An informed consent processes.

2. Completion of the cervical screening process

3. Interpreting results and taking appropriate action.

Mandatory criteria

Service delivery must comply with the following:

1. Guideline for Cervical Screening in New Zealand

2. National Cervical Screening Programme (NCSP) policies and standards. Both above documents are available on the National Screening Unit website.

Eligibility criteria

Māori, Pacific or CSC holders (CSC will not be listed on the Halcyon form but claims will be accepted for CSC holders who are not Maori or Pasifika when the box is ticked)

Or under screened (>5yrs since their last screen) or unscreened.

Claiming will continue to be completed via Halcyon.
