FROM THE DESK OF

DIRECTOR

Dear WBG family members, This New Year has started with great prospects. January has been a very eventful month with a whole lot happening in the WBG site. With all the valuable support from our partners, we have been able to achieve great outcomes, which means that our scheduled works at WBG sites shall move smoothly allowing us to achieve our dream by December 2015. Wayanad Bio Garden, our dream project now has a new face. We have decided on a new identity for the brand which in essence is all that WBG has and stands for. We have decided on a flexible logo which shall change its shades according to the season. Works at our WBG site are progressing at a smooth pace and we have split our work force to provide faster and better results. With many works happening simultaneously, WBG shall soon be a reality we can all enjoy. I thank you all again for your valuable contributions at each stage of this journey. And with combined efforts, WBG shall soon see a fresh dawn. Warm regards Dr KT Ashraf Director

THE NEW FACE OF WBG

A logo is what defines a brand and it is very crucial to have a logo that shall convey what a brand does and represents in just one look. The new face of WBG is designed with elements that shout out Wayanad Bio Garden. Using elements which clearly represent Wayanad and the offerings of Wayanad Bio garden, we created a wholesome logo comprising multiple elements. The logo is one of its kind with a flexible appearance which changes according to the season and puts on a fresh face every season, much like the Earth.

LOGO IN DETAIL

The logo holds within various elements like an elephant, birds, leaves, the mountains, fishes, butterflies, flowers, cave art and more. Each of these elements is truly Wayanad and WBG. All in all, it expresses the vegetation and terrain of the land. The whole logo of WBG is set in different shades of the prime color. But the logo is created in four different colors for four different seasons. The color for each season is selected by analyzing the features of each season.

5

Autumn In the season of autumn, WBG shall drape itself in multiple shades of red much like nature fills the land with leaves which are in beautiful shades of red. This gives WBG a sense of belonging with the season.

Summer As the sun shines on the Earth in all his glory, painting various hues of his light on her, WBG shall soak in multiple hues of honey orange. Bright and beaming, the WBG logo shall promise to each visitor a fresh beginning and a glorious time.

Winter As the cool breeze rushes past WBG and everything turns into a subtle blue, even the logo will tone down to different strokes of blue. Symbolizing the chill in the weather and the change in colour on mother earth, blue shall beam all over WBG.

Spring With new life blossoming all over the world, Terra turns green in colour and so will WBG. Wearing multiple shades of green all over it, WBG shall promise a fresh start to everyone.

Security hut after completion

Home to the Guardians

Paths of a pleasant walk

Our security team is all bunked up now, with the security nest being completely built up in the form of tribal huts, as dreamed earlier. Unlike everywhere else, our security bunk is designed like a beautiful tribal hut which adds to the ethos of WBG. Made purely out of natural materials, the security hut is symbolic of our brand philosophy of enhancing mother nature’s beauty without harming her.

Pathway construction is progressing smoothly. Quality oriented construction ensures the pathway to stay perfect for a long time period.

Periphery of the magic land Retainer walls are above the ground level now. Right time schedule is being followed in the construction.

Structural Work

Shilpakala in the Mayanagari

Structural works of the buildings are progressing in an idle manner under the supervision of qualified and experienced professionals. High quality raw materials are ensured in the construction.

Sculptures are designed to set landmarks and exhibit human ability to match nature’s beauty. WBG shall have the most beautifully apt art work around and the sculpture designs are at the final stage and shall be ready to be unveiled in a few days.

Precaution for a safe workforce We believe in providing a safe working environment to our workforce and hence we have strict guidelines for our workers including wearing helmets, gloves, boots and other safety apparels. Further, even visitors should compulsorily wear safety apparel before entering the work site.

Conservation, the key to growth As we know, preserving mother nature is our utmost priority and hence, the tree transplantation process has been adopted to save existing trees. Being pioneers of Transplanting WBG hopes to save as many trees as we can. Our responsibility to the Earth is immense and doing our bit to conserve our resources is a great way to start. Transplantation has begun and is progressing with much ease. We have ensured that no tree is cut down for our convenience and we will go out of our way to save the trees in the site area. The planning set for gardens are strictly followed and inspected periodically.

Why Wayanad? It’s always amazing to witness untamed forest up close, but what Wayanad offers is to experience the forest from within. Around 885.92.sq.km area of the district is under forest and this is as beautiful as it gets. Mother Nature has created wonders around which are still unexplored in the land of Wayanad. Wayanad shall excite you and enchant you within what it holds. One such marvel is the Chembra Peak, tallest pinnacle of the region, it stands tall at 2100 meters. As you start climbing, your horizon expands and you can see Wayanad in all its glory, the spot itself is a feast to the eyes. After Chembra Peak another attraction is Neelimala, a place trekkers will fall in love with. The peak of Neelimala provides beautiful view of Meenmutty waterfalls, gushing into the deep ground below. It is sure to mesmerize you. The next attraction Wayanad has to offer is Meenmutty Falls. The roaring waterfall which runs down 300 meters will sweep your heart as it falls down in all its glory. It definitely is a treat to the eyes. Another attraction that follows is Chethalayam Waterfalls. Although it is not as big as Meenmutty waterfalls, it promises a breathtaking spectacle for the shutterbug in you. Be here and spot few rare birds from the region. A historical identity of Wayanad is Edakkal Caves. The caves which have, inked on them, pictorial writings from 6,000 BC shall let you witness art much lost and found only in a few places. India’s biggest earth dam is also located in Wayanad, Banasura Sagar Dam. The dam is located in the southwestern part of the district and is close to the ’Karalad’ Lake, which is a dual surprise for the visitors. Why Wayanad? Why not Wayanad? For, if you want to witness God’s Own Country’s divine beauty, it lies here, amidst the jungle, in the magic land, in Wayanad.
