Eight Kings Mountain players named to SMAC All-Conference football team Kings Mountain High placed eight players on the All-South Mountain Athletic Conference team announced this week. Mountaineers honored included Tyshun Allison, JT Cash, Darian McClain, Khal Welch, Jonathan Rikard, Jerdon Pressley, Reese Reinhart and Kavin Mosley. The eight led the Mountaineers to a second place finish in the SMAC behind state champion Shelby, and an 8-4 overall record. Four of the standouts – Cash,

Pressley, Rikard and Reinhart – will return next year as the Mountaineers begin play in the Big South 3A Conference. Allison, McClain, Welch and Mosley will graduate in the spring. Shelby led in All-SMAC selections with nine, including Kings Mountain native Dax Hollifield who was voted SMAC Defensive Player of the Year. His teammate, Jayden Borders, was selected as Offensive Player of the Year. David Devine of Burns was se-

lected Coach of the Year. Shelby players joining Hollifield and Borders on the AllSMAC team were Michael Carson, Malik Surratt, Darius Clark, Damion Key, OJ Ross, Will Stites and Gesus Hartgrove. Burns was represented by Magale Burris, Bryson Allen, Stormy Mosteller, Austin Birch, Raheem Epps, Cameron Barbee, BJ Hopper and Noal Sanders. Crest players selected were Cameron Peeler, Tyshun Odom,

Quante Williams, Justin Foster, Jeremiah Boykins, Rae-Kwon Turner, Tavian Brintley and Jamaud Geter. Thirty-three of the 54 players on the team are from Cleveland County. RS Central, which went two rounds in the state 2A playoffs, put five on the team. They were Spencer Norris, Tyrese Tate, Ramon Rodriguez, Damarcus Johnson and Kanaan Black. Chase was represented by

Tyreece McSwain, Bruce Spires, Zach Anderson and Xavier Williams. Representing East Rutherford were Demetrius Mauney, Cade Hamilton, Zavie Lowrance and Fonzbee Clyburn. East Burke placed Seth Grain, Divan Canine, Bristol Cope and Dakota Fox, and Draughn’s selections were Will Viggers and Cooper Abernathy.
