Friends of Home Start - Volunteers will have the opportunity to join and get to know a group of volunteers who meet regularly and who are committed to supporting our Charity. We are looking for volunteers to join our Friends Group to assist with organising fund raising events to raise money and the profile of Home Start Woking. We arranged a very successful Chinese evening in February and a Bollywood evening is in hand. Friends would also help at events such as Party in the Park, staffing an information stall. New ideas and suggestions would be welcome. Home-Visiting Volunteers (WOK27): Volunteers are prepared for the role through a preparatory training course and ongoing training and support is provided by staff on a regular basis. Volunteers are carefully matched with a family and visit weekly for around 2-3 hours. The aim is to help families find their feet, gain confidence and become the parents they want to be. MUST HAVE PARENTAL EXPERIENCE. Management Committee Member (Trustee) responsible for fundraising/PR (WOK804): Home-Start Woking is seeking to recruit a Trustee to be responsible for Fundraising and PR. Duties will include the following: • Developing new and imaginative fundraising activities – often events based • Linking with media to promote and advertise forthcoming events • Building and maintaining long-term fundraising relationships via churches and other organisations • Organising traditional fundraising activities in line with Home-Start UK • Increasing funds through researching and targeting charitable trusts • Raising awareness of the charity at a LOCAL level Trustee (funding research) needed to work alongside the member of staff responsible for fundraising from trusts and foundations to research funding opportunities suitable for our organisation. Volunteer could work from home or in the office. Trustee needed to join our lively, friendly team of seven. We meet once every two months on a weekday morning and for an AGM in September. Trustees also take part in sub committees, currently personnel, fundraising, volunteer training, strategic/business planning, which meet on an ad hoc basis as necessary.

HORSELL VILLAGE AFTER SCHOOL CLUB Volunteer play workers - required to promote learning through play to children aged between 5 and 11 years. Team work needed, one or more weekdays during school term, time from 2.30 to 6.00. It would be preferable but not essential for you to have a DBS. HORSELL CARE A neighbourhood care scheme offer a helping hand for residents of Horsell, young or old, who find everyday tasks difficult Drivers (WOK28): to help neighbours with transport for shopping, home and hospital visits, befriending and covering the telephone. The hours and days are flexible. HORSELL COMMON PRESERVATION SOCIETY The Society is responsible for maintaining and preserving both Horsell and Pyrford Commons for the benefit of the natural flora and fauna and the general public for recreational purposes. Environmental Volunteers: The society requires volunteers to help with scrub clearance one Sunday per month (September to March 10am to 1pm) HOST UK HOST offers international students, over the age of 18, studying at all levels in the UK a day or weekend visit to a British family. We work with more than 100 subscribing institutions, many of whom pay in full for our student’s visit. We have a network of about 40 regional
