DEVELOPMENT » Falconer & Co - Jack’s Point

Business South

Jack’s Point houses up for grabs Russell Fredric If the past success of Falconer & Co’s property developments are a anything to go by, potential buyers looking to Jack’s Point near Queenstown will need to be quick. Following the sell-out of its Peregrine Ridge and North Terrace developments Falconer & Co are now offering the remaining available house and land packages at North Brooke. Situated in Coneburn Ridge to the north of Jack’s Point, North Brooke offers a quiet, secluded sanctuary within Jack’s Point. Jack’s Point is in the Remarkables Primary School zone and the development of the village plans to include restaurants, cafés, quality retail and small innovative businesses. Falconer & Co chief executive Dean Franklin says residents of North Brooke have the prospect of creating an enviable work and lifestyle mix. “All but two units are left. North Brooke is a similar product to North Terrace on slightly larger sections, 400 plus square metres, and its got a stream that runs through it so some of the properties border on the stream and a wetland, which is quite a unique feature.” When the North Brooke properties were released, many who missed out on North Terrace snapped them up. “There is now a population to support the commercial (village) activities so everything is fuelling the demand.” While there is a huge demand overall for Jack’s Point properties with most sold, Dean Franklin recalls when it was a different picture, particularly when he was one of the few home owners in the area 10 years ago. “I saw a time where there wasn’t much selling at all, to an absolute frenzy of people wanting to get into the location. “People have realised that Jack’s Point is not very far away from the (Queenstown) action.”

North Brooke offers a quiet, secluded environment within Jack’s Point.

Buyers of North Terrace’s properties have largely been New Zealanders, from emptynesters downsizing and families moving from Queenstown, to holiday home and first home buyers. Dean Franklin says the price point of North Brooke’s house and land packages along with their architectural design and quality features seem to be the right fit in the market. “We got the product right. The quality is there.”

Development of North Terrace started in April with most homes due for completion prior to Christmas this year. The project is being developed at a rapid pace. “Triple Star are running the project; they are the building contractors and with their scheduling and project management experience they know how to build faster then anybody else.” As of September, several homes are weeks from completion already.

The Jack’s Point zone, comprising seven neighbourhoods, an 18-hole golf course, clubhouse, recreational and community facilities, started development in 2002. Combined with the adjoining Henley residential neighbourhoods, Jack’s Point will ultimately contain more than 3000 homes, creating a community about three times the size of Arrowtown.
