AZZURRI MANUFACTURING RE-USABLE PROTECTIVE FACE MASKS In response to a shortage of certified respiratory face masks, Azzurri have developed a washable, re-usable, protective face mask, to assist in the protection against COVID-19. Azzurri’s industrial side has over 30 years’ experience producing personal protective clothing for emergency services, through their sister company, Waterford Uniforms. They have re-adapted a certified high-performance material for use in a face mask, to prevent virus droplets entering the nose and mouth. This is a re-usable protective face mask solution, where there is a shortage of supply of certified respiratory masks.

The decision to go down this road was made in the absence of face masks, made clear by the daily enquiries the company received saying they were left with nothing to protect their staff and loved ones. Azzurri are producing an initial batch of 5,000 face masks which will be provided free of charge, to local and regional nursing homes and health care organisation predominantly in the South East. Should there be a demand thereafter the Waterford company are preparing to gear up production further, offering these at the lowest possible price, to both the general public and healthcare organisations.
