CONDUCTING A CELEBRATION Guests enjoyed cocktails and song (and a nice cake, too!) at Norman Scribner’s 75th birthday party hosted by the Choral Arts Society of Washington and held at the residence of British Embassy Deputy Head of Mission Dominick Chilco . One of Washington’s most versatile and respected musical figures, Scribner had much to celebrate, including the continued success of the Choral Arts Society, which he founded in 1965.

DANCING AND DIPLOMACY Ambassadors from Malaysia, Iraq, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Liechtenstein, Fiji and Botswana a ended the annual black-tie ball hosted by students from Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service. UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY: Budding diplomats interacted with senior envoys in a relaxed se ing with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and even some dance floor action once the crowd finally got moving to the sounds of the Lovejoy Group’s jazz, blues and Latin rhythms.
