Recycling your old Balls...
Why do I bother?
Since mid 2018 I have sorted and sent several thousand tennis balls to Recycaball, for repressuring, re-selling or giving to charities. Recycaball is a non-profit making organisation that gives money to various charities each year. We have received almost £500 for the balls since 2018, this money has been spent on...
• A mixed recycling bin, the recycaball bin, bird and bat boxes for the Club site and £270 given to local charities - the Friendship Project and Waverley Dementia Day Care Centre in Kenilworth.
We haven’t had many decent balls being recycled lately, so if you have a lot in your cupboard at home, do bring them to the Club to recycle. Any balls that aren’t good enough to send to Recycaball, Gavin gives to the local schools. This way the balls get used again, before they go to the general waste.

balls. Please dry and clean them first.
32 players joined in an impromptu social C team mixed tournament organised by their captain Jane Robbins on Sun 26 March.

Extra social players joined in too moving court and splitting every 25’ for 5 matches with Angelo Cugini in charge of whistle blowing on the day. Highest scorers of the men was tennis captain Jonathan Browning, and ladies joint winners Caroline Halliwell and Jette Cowan. The players clubbed together to give Jane flowers and a bottle of rose for all her organising. Everyone met new faces on court and enjoyed drinks, coffees and cake in the clubhouse afterwards. Plenty of requests for it to be a diary fixture for 2024 - if not before!
