Though they share no common language, they communicated through their music and collaborated at the French festival ‘Nuit Metis’ (Nights of Mixed Race). The music developed by these kindred spirits is a mad fusion of afrobeat, hip-hop, folk and reggae that defies description.

This live show sees a supergroup of Britain’s finest jazz stars revisiting the music played by the legendary Miles Davis. The loose spirit and elastic treatments that Miles's quintet gave Broadway song materials in the 1960's are the inspiration and provide the repertoire for this band of well-known names. Heading the quintet is Simon Spillett, an award-winning saxophonist who leads four veteran stars including Henry Lowther, widely regarded as one of Britain's best brass players.
Super Everything* A live cinema performance project by The Light Surgeons Sat 9 Mar 7.30pm Theatre £15.50, £10.50 for TEDxWarwick pass holders (see page 16 for details) SuperEverything* is a cross disciplinary performing arts project created by leading audio-visual artists The Light Surgeons in collaboration with a group of Malaysian artists and string players from the Heritage Orchestra. It seeks to discover how our complex sense of identity is formed through rituals. Filmed on location across Peninsular Malaysia, this live audio-visual performance explores the relationship between identity, ritual and place. By combining traditional South East Asian instruments, western classical compositions, field recordings and electronic synthesis, the resulting soundtrack is manipulated live and complemented by an stunning, immersive visual experience.
