At the start of the year, 28 new constables graduated from the WA Police Academy after 25 weeks of intensive training.

The new constables in Green Squad 06/2020 graduated on January 14 and are now ready to confront the demands of policing, beginning with compliance checking as part of the COVID-19 Self-Quarantine Assurance Team.

Commissioner of Police Chris Dawson also presented one police officer with his Certificate of Service at the ceremony, as he had dedicated more than 25 years to the WA Police Force before retiring in November last year.

Another 10 officers were presented with their Commissions, following their recent promotion to the rank of Inspector.

HEALTH

Continued from page 30

I know good service and Police Health are wonderful to deal with!

And you could tell how this ease of burden impacted my recovery. I was finished with my rehab from open-heart surgery just two weeks on. I still find it hard to believe I only had to pay a $580 gap, out of my pocket.

Even with the most recent news, that I have a double hernia below my heart. My doctor says it’s a routine procedure and I’m one of four he performs every day.

I have no fears that Police Health will come through again for me, just like they always have.

I’m not worried! I enjoy a better lifestyle now, thanks to Police Health.

I plan to continue enjoying all the ongoing benefits of being a member. I have cataracts and hearing aids, both of which were taken care of easily through Police Health.

I’m the treasurer of the Littlehampton Peace Memorial Hall Management committee, in my local community. I’m also a member of the Retired Police Officers group on Facebook.

I love to stay active within the policing community. I spent a quarter of a century at SAPOL and it will always be an important chapter of my life. There’s a comradery within the force that’ll always bind us together.

And, how am I feeling now? Dangerously good! I’m just happy to be alive.
