NEW French Art and Culture: Learn French With Matisse ‘French Art and Culture’ is an art camp that introduces campers to the French language and culture in a fun artistic manner. While creating their own Matisse inspired collages, portraits, landscapes and still lifes, the campers will learn the names of shapes, colors, numbers and some basic French conversation skills. We will dance, sing and listen to classic French stories and songs. Our daily adventure ends with a Pique-Nique savoring a French snack. NEW Create-a-Book Camp The art of bookmaking and illustrating books will be the focus of this week. While creating books of different types, students will infuse their stories with descriptive language, creating vibrant pictures in the reader’s mind. Kids’ Carpentry Camp Lifetime carpentry skills such as problem-solving, measuring and applied mathematics are taught in a fun, supportive atmosphere. The safe use of woodworking hand tools is emphasized while boys and girls, Kindergarten -entering 7th grade, work together on boats, bird feeders, doll furniture, games, clocks and more. Tools and wood are provided. Participants must be at least entering kindergarten in the fall. Our motto is: Building confidence and teaching with respect and humor in a safe and happy environment. NEW C’est Quoi L’Art? What is Art French Camp ‘C’est Quoi l’art?’ camp inspires kids to learn about various forms of art and helps them develop creative expression in a fun and educational environment. Areas covered include the color theory and mixing, composition, and different styles of art. Each day offers a unique set of activities such as fine art projects inspired by Famous French artists like Cezanne, Monet, Degas and Matisse as well as basic French conversation skills.
