Dragstalgia features a range of “Nostalgia” dragsters. Nostalgia drag racing started in the mid-1980s when old racers started racing their front-engine dragsters, funny cars and super stockers again. The cars raced are a mix of restored originals and recreations of older cars.
Normally these types of cars compete in the same categories as everyone else. Dragstalgia - Wild Bunch Wars will include the F.E.D. Challenge. Front Engine Dragsters (FEDs) used to be the norm in drag racing until they were superseded by back engine dragsters which were safer as dragsters got faster
and faster. However, some dragsters missed the unique experience of racing FEDs. “They are scary and interesting to drive. You have more of an adrenaline rush with the engine in front of you and the tyres almost next to your face,” says MMP Chair Bob Wilton.
