“Motherhood changes us-- sometimes quite literally. The body that used to be so cooperative and obedient to our command, now isn’t so anymore. I personally think that clothes are God’s gift to moms, not really so we can “hide” our bodies, but for us to creatively “manipulate” them (in the best sense of the word) to work to our advantage.” Here are five common “areas of concern” that moms face and some ways we can address them:

stylist’s picks

1. big boobs “Wear tops that have open necklines (wide-open or V-neck). High-neck shirts would make your chest look wider than they are.”

tip: Long necklaces help break the width of your chest.

2. big arms “Stay away from cap sleeves, puff sleeves, and spaghetti straps. Three-quarter length sleeves will serve you best.

When it comes to accessories, finer or more delicate bracelets work in our favor. We have to think twice about those big bangles that cover our wrists—the only thing that’s slender in our arms!

3. saddle bags Opt for tops that fall higher or lower than your hips to avoid drawing attention to them. Dark colors minimize whereas brighter/lighter colors highlight.

If you want to wear light-colored pants, try to balance it out with lighter/brighter tops too. A dark top paired with light pants will draw all attention to your bottom.

stylist’s picks 4. big butt Wear bottoms that cut your butt area in half. High-waisted and tight pants will emphasize how round your butt is.You might also want to wear shirts/ dresses that cover this part altogether. Just make sure they don’t hug your butt either!

5. flabby tummy Fabric and fit are of utmost importance here. Clingy and tight tops will definitely show what we wish to hide. Stay away from tops that are too loose or too thick, which can just give us added inches and extra skin. Find fabrics that skim through your silhouette, lending shape without showing the extra unwanted curves.

Play up the femininity with all things girly and dainty, like a pastel blazer, dotted top and strappy pink sandals.

Add edge and contrast with a bright red cape top- a perfect clash to your pleated floral mini.

Bold dots call for equally bold colors. Color block in primary brights to make you a sure fire scene stealer.

Keep it chic and simple with a monocromatic look, allowing the dots to be the main point of attraction. Throw in an easy cardigan for added interest.

Match a striped top with a colorful banded skirt for that cute and mysterious appeal.

Tricky stripes most often leave you looking wider than you really are.

Go for a maxi cut, thin striped dress to add legnth and pair it with a bright blazer to break the pattern.
