LADIES * Have you discovered the Ladies Lunch Club? If not – read on!
The Club is a friendly gathering of ladies who meet on the 4th Tuesday of the month (October – June) at the Old Rectory Hotel in Crostwick, where we enjoy a lovely lunch, followed by a talk from a guest speaker on a diverse range of topics – from ‘Being a Life Model’ to ‘Medical Dogs’, ‘The Tudor Kitchen’ to ‘To the Hammer Born’. Is this something you would enjoy? Why not ‘come and try’ at one of these meetings or come with a group of friends. Whilst our official title is The Horning & District Ladies Lunch Club, you do NOT have to live in Horning in order to join us! It is necessary to book in advance. For more information please contact Tricia Elson on 01692 630206 or ladieslunchclub@btinternet.com

AYLSHAM CHESS CLUB
Aylsham teams win chess leagues!
Two Aylsham Chess Club (ACC) teams have won their respective Norfolk County Chess Association (NCCA) leagues. During the 2021-22 season, Aylsham Spitfires (NCCA Div 2 West) competed against teams representing Broadland, Fakenham, King’s Lynn and North Norfolk. Aylsham Hurricanes (Div 3) competed against teams representing Broadland, North Norfolk, Norwich (St John’s Bishops & Knights) and Wymondham. John Wickham (NCCA & ACC Chair) commented: “After two years of COVID it was great to complete a full chess season. Aylsham Chess Club, only founded in 2018, did well in winning two of the NCCA leagues. Hopefully, Aylsham will be able to build on this success and, possibly, have enough players for a third team in the 2022-23 season.” To find out more about Aylsham Chess Club contact Jonathan Reeve: Tel: 01263-733744 or email: aylshamchessclub@gmail.com For details of other Norfolk Chess Clubs visit: www.norfolkchess.org/ clubs.html Photos from their final games of the 2021-22 season North Norfolk Seals versus Aylsham Spitfires Names (left to right): North Norfolk Seals (David Jones, Edward Hackford, Robin Blackwell & Alan Page) and Aylsham Spitfires (Dan Hedges, David Owen, Matt Rausch & John Wickham)
