teachers must agree to these rules. All teachers will help you to feel safe when using the computer or the Internet. When we feel safe, we can use the computer and the Internet for learning.

Please read these agreements and sign your agreement to join our school’s vision how to use technology for learning as well as your agreement to the Digital Citizenship Program.

espect & Protect Respect describes how we treat others and ourselves. Respect & Protect Ourselves: ● I will be a thinker and share only things about myself, my

family, my school and the community which are nice and safe. ● I will be principled and visit only sites on the Internet that

are approved by my teacher and parents. ● I will be a communicator and tell my teacher or parent

when I feel unsafe about something. Respect & Protect Others: ● I will respect and protect others in the same way I

respect myself. ● I will be principled and ask other people before I share or

use any of their information. ● When I am online, I will be caring and use kind words

towards everyone.


esponsibility Responsibility describes how we behave when using technology. ● I will be principled and use the computer and the Internet to help me learn. ● I will be a thinker and view, share, and publish appropriate information. ● I will share the name of another person when I want to take his / her ideas. Responsibility also describes the consequences of breaking the rules. ● I will stop the inappropriate action (after 1st warning). ● I will give up my right to use the computer for that period (after 2nd warning). ● I will know that administration and parents will be told (after continuing inappropriate action). ● I know that I may be denied my technology privileges for a period of time.

Our Primary School’s Vision Computers and iPads - both within and outside school, surround us. Our school uses computers to help us to learn and encourages us to inquire into our questions we have. We use the Internet to find answers, to work and create something together with others, and to share other people. Additionally we want to understand how to be safe online.

Agreement - Purpose Our school developed an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and a Digital Citizenship Program, because we want YOU to be safe. Therefore students, parents and teachers must agree to these rules. The Digital Citizenship Program will take place throughout the school year and is integrated into the units. All teachers will help you to feel safe when using the computer, iPad or the Internet. When we feel safe, we can use technology for learning. Please read these agreements and sign your agreement to join our school’s vision of how to use technology for learning as well as your agreement to the Digital Citizenship Program.

ights I have the right to access all school technologies as well as software for learning and understanding if I follow our school’s agreement. The school has the right to remove privileges if I do not follow the agreement.

espect & Protect Respect describes how we relate to ourselves and to others. Respect & Protect Ourselves: ●

I will carefully consider the information and images that I share and how it describes my family, my school, my community, and myself.

I will keep myself safe by choosing an appropriate online name.

I will keep passwords private.

I will only visit sites that are approved by my teacher and parents.

I will be positive about sharing my learning with others.

I will respect and protect others in the same way I respect myself.

I will ask other people before I share or use any of their information.

When online, I will use kind words towards everyone.

I will be positive about what others share.

I will only do legal things on and with technology. If I witness something illegal, I will report it.

I will share the name of another person when I want to take his / her ideas.

I will protect computer equipment and software from harm by not downloading or uploading anything without permission.

Responsibility also describes the consequences of breaking the AUP agreement. ●

I will stop the inappropriate action (after 1st warning).

I will give up my right to access technology for that period (after 2nd warning).

I will know that administration and parents will be notified (after continuing inappropriate action).

I know that I may be denied my technology privileges for a time to be determined on a case by case basis.

Year 4/5 Our Primary School’s Vision We are surrounded by digital technologies in our daily lives, both within and outside school. Our school uses technology to support naturally the way we learn and encourage us to inquire into our questions we have. Digital technologies and tools on the Internet enable us research online, to make connections for deeper understanding, to collaborate, to create and share with the greater audience. Additionally we want an understanding of personal privacy online, being public in the online world, safety, and respect for copyright.

AUP - Purpose In order to facilitate our vision safely, responsibly and with meaning, our school has developed an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and a Digital Citizenship Program. Students, in partnership with their parents, as well as teachers must agree to these policies and the Digital Citizenship Program that will take place throughout the school year integrated in the unit of inquiries. All teachers at our school will endeavor to ensure that all students are educated about safe practices, to enable the students to make informed and sensible decisions when online. It will give us the privilege of learning through the use of technology in our school.
