Over 50 years of industrial progress to drive the healthcare sector

Ever since it was founded in France back in 1962, private family-owned company Vygon has based its development on innovation and the distribution of single-use medical equipment by controlling every stage in the product lifecycle, from design through to distribution.

• Design

At our four development centres (the main centre is located in Ecouen, France, with the second in Aachen, Germany, the third in Chaponost near Lyon and the fourth in Les Aires near Béziers), 65 people are focused every day on creating the medical devices of tomorrow's world.

• Manufacturing

Vygon's medical devices are produced in our 11 factories around the world: five in France, one in Belgium, one in Germany, one in Portugal, one in the United States, one in Colombia and one in Mauritius. • Distribution

Once manufactured, most of our products are sterilised and stored at our logistics hub in Verneuilen-Halatte in France's Oise region before being distributed.

In France, our 100-strong sales force serves more than 4,000 customers (hospitals, clinics, purchasing consortia and service providers).

Vygon is currently active in over 120 countries, with 26 sales subsidiaries and 3 sales offices.

Its network also comprises around 100 distributors who play their part in fuelling the Group's international development.

The Group's revenue (€344.5 million in 2020) is constantly growing, just like the number of employees.

Our production

Over 148 million products were manufactured in our factories during 2020.

The proportion of products manufactured in France is on the increase while the proportion of products manufactured in Europe remains stable. The value of the products manufactured in that area is also continually growing, which reflects the increasing level of technical expertise at those sites.

During 2020, production was redirected to “Covid” products: leadercath (+110% for certain products), multicaths (+57% for certain products) and CPAP Boussignac (+136%).

Installation of chillers at our SIPV factory

After the two factories in the North of France, the SIPV factory in Ecouen withdrew two chillers to replace them with two new ones using the less polluting gas R1234ZE. From now on, the heat produced by these chillers is recovered and injected into the hot water network to reduce the boiler's gas consumption. The boiler only operates when the outside temperature is below 5°C. The SIPV factory also took advantage of this project to install a centralised technical management system for the air handling units and the boiler. This system allows precise control over the installations, resulting in energy savings. This €540,000 project will reduce gas consumption by 20% at the Ecouen site

The VYSION project, our 5-year strategy

Vygon has undergone a profound transformation over the past 10 years. Many challenges have been successfully met allowing the Group to continue to expand and invest. However, more challenges lie ahead. In a difficult context due to an increasingly competitive environment and growing regulatory constraints, it is essential for the Group to prepare for the future to maintain its growth and dynamism. VYSION is an enterprise-wide business plan in line with our company culture and our values involving employees from our various subsidiaries, our distributors, and also some of our customers to conduct a diagnostic review and set out our ambitions and strategic objectives. More than 250 employees were given the opportunity to express themselves at individual interviews or roundtable meetings, while 70 customers and distributors as well as 7 suppliers were also interviewed. Our strategic objectives have been broken down into 29 strategic projects for which the first groups will begin in 2021 bringing together a large number of employees according to their field of expertise.

An Anti-Corruption Code of Conduct in line with our company's values

After the adoption of Vygon's Ethics Policy and to continue its deployment of the compliance programme, Vygon established an Anti-Corruption Code of Conduct. This code aims to set out the standards of conduct to be observed within the Group in relation to the fight against corruption. It outlines key concepts giving concrete examples. Any employee or external or occasional collaborator of the Group who is faced with a situation that they consider to be contrary to the principles and rules of the Internal Regulations, the Group Ethics Policy and/or the Anti-Corruption Code of Conduct, may directly alert one of their line managers, a manager of their entity, or the Compliance Officer, in full discretion.

Communication

Vygon uses various media to reach out to its employees, including the Workplace communication platform, an internal magazine, posters, an intranet and briefing meetings. Our employees are regularly informed of the following: • Vacancies, internal transfers and new hires • Initiatives taken or advice given to improve health, safety and the environment at our sites • New products • Core business activities • Development work carried out at our sites • The company's different projects • Charity, community and sponsorship initiatives • The company's strategic decisions and results
