Junior Jordan Matthews put together arguably the greatest receiving season ever by a Commodore. Matthews set a new Vanderbilt single-season record with 1,323 receiving yards on 94 catches. The reception total ranks second in both Vanderbilt and SEC record books. He also added eight TD catches. Recognized as a third team All-America by CBSSports and Phil Steele, Matthews helped the Commodores to a 9-4 mark, its highest win total since World War I. Matthews enjoyed his finest games against the top competition. He topped the SEC with a 109.6-yard average against conference opponents. He topped the 100-yard receiving mark against seven foes, including five from the SEC. His top performance was a 9-catch, 153-yard effort in the Commodores' road win at Ole Miss.
Defensive back Casey Hayward capped a remarkable career in 2011 by earning second team AllAmerica honors from the Walter Camp Football Federation. He was also recognized on All-America teams by Rivals.com, Yahoo! Sports, and Phil Steele's. Hayward, a product of Perry, Ga., finished his career with 15 interceptions, and shares the team career mark with former All-America Leonard Coleman. As a senior, Hayward contributed seven picks and matched his team record with 17 passes defended, helping the Commodores to an appearance in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl. A three-year starter, Hayward also holds the Vanderbilt career mark with 46 passes defended. He was was selected by Green Bay in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft.
In 2008, Moore became the first Vandy cornerback to earn All-America honors in 25 years. He was named second team by Associated Press, Sporting News, SI.com and Rivals. com after a sensational junior season. Moore posted six interceptions and 58 tackles, contributing to the 'Dores' 7-6 campaign that ended with a win over Boston College at the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl. He ended his career tied for second among Commodores with 13 career interceptions. Moore also was the SEC's most versatile player in 2008, also seeing action as a running back, wide receiver and return specialist. In a late-season win at Kentucky, he achieved a truly rare feat with a 2-interception, 2-TD catch effort. Moore was selected in the 4th round by Chicago.

Bennett concluded his career as the SEC's all-time leading receiver. As a sophomore in 2006, the Birmingham product was named third-team All-America by Rivals.com in 2006 after catching 82 passes. After three years, Bennett left Vandy with 236 career catches, 28 more than any other SEC receiver. In 2007, Bennett caught 75 passes, becoming the only receiver in SEC history to post three straight seasons with at least 75 catches. Bennett was a three-time All-SEC recipient. Many fans remember Bennett and Jay Cutler connecting on many memorable plays in the 2005 season, including the game-winning touchdown to defeat Tennessee in Knoxville. Bennett was selected by Chicago in the third round of the 2008 draft.

Winborn was named All-America by Football News following the 1999 season after leading the 'Dores and the SEC with 141 tackles. It was the second straight year that Winborn led the league in tackles. A two-time All-SEC Coaches selection, Winborn was the complete linebacker package in 1999. He was a run stopper who delivered punishing blows, making plays sideline to sideline. He led the squad with a team-record 23 tackles for loss. Winborn's season included a 20-tackle, two-sack performance versus South Carolina. Winborn finished his Commodore career with 377 total tackles, 45 tackles for loss, 16.5 QB sacks and six forced fumbles. Winborn topped the squad in solo tackles for for three consecutive years. Winborn was selected by the 49ers in the 2001 NFL Draft. He has played with the 49ers, Bucs, Broncos and Titans.

Duncan was a dominating linebackers and a player who always rose to the occasion. In 1997, Duncan was named First Team All-America by the Football Writers Association. He was also named Second Team All-America by the Associated Press and Football News. In 1997, he becamethe only Commodore player to earn SEC Defensive Player of the Year honors from the Associated Press. He also received similar recognition from the Mobile Press Register. As a junior, Duncan amassed 152 tackles, six sacks, 14 tackles for loss and five forced fumbles. He finished his career with 425 tackles. His effort against No. 1 Florida remains one of the best ever by a Commodore. Duncan's career included stops with Bucs, Rams and Falcons.
