Friendly competition and undeniable attraction brought Aly Dick and Fabio Zamith together while playing soccer for the Zog Sports charity league in New York City. “When I heard a new, Brazilian player was joining our team, I was intrigued,” Aly says. “Throughout the game he kept passing me the ball—we had great chemistry on the field.” Afterwards, the team went out for a few post-game cocktails and the pair chatted all night long. Both equally competitive and adventurous, they had found their perfect match. the proposal. When Fabio’s parents came to visit from Brazil, the couple was thrilled to show them all the beauty that New York State has to offer beyond the five boroughs. From the infamous Saratoga Springs racetrack to Alexandria Bay, they planned a fun-filled tour of the Finger Lakes and Adirondack Regions with Aly’s parents. While lunching at the majestic Belhurst Castle on Seneca Lake, Fabio caught his sweetheart alone on a bench overlooking the sparkling waters. Completely taking her by surprise, he got down on bended knee and asked her to be his wife. “It was simple, sweet and from the heart,” Aly says. “It was so special to be able to share that memory and all of its excitement with our parents–even with my dad, who had to leave early. Fabio had him on speed dial the minute after I said ‘Yes!’” the day & design. Originally dreaming of a beachfront ceremony in Brazil, Aly and Fabio realized the bride’s hometown of Hamilton, NY would be the perfect place for a family-focused celebration that reflected their unique sense of style. A bold palette of bright coral, punchy pink, and vivid greens spoke to the groom’s Brazilian heritage, while soft shades of cream grounded the design to complement the hand-hewn character of the countryside. Infusing the elegant ambience with rustic touches, the open-air affair struck the perfect balance between chic cocktail party and laid-back soiree. A vintage truck stood on the lawn stocked with local brews, while delicious caipirinha–a traditional Brazilian beverage–was served as an exotic refreshment.
