Dvadasa Adityas Effects of Sun in Different Zodiacs and Houses | Vijaya Subramanian The purpose of a person is shown by the placement of the sun in the horoscope. Vijaya subramaniam writes that the aditya of the house in which the sun is placed shows the basic impulse or the true nature of an individual.
T
he Sun is the nourisher of all living and inert beings. Nothing in this world can survive without the Sun. Sage Parasara describes the Sun as gdmŠĂ&#x2039;_m M {XdmZWmo - The Sun is the Cosmic Spirit. The individual spirit or Jivatma takes birth for a purpose ascertained by the law of karma and the Sun will provide the resources for the accomplishment of the ordained karma.
Vijaya Subramanian is a Vedic astrologer based in London. She obtained the certificate of Jyotisha Pandita after studying Parasara Hora Sastra with her Guru Sanjay Rath. She has been a member of BAVA since 2004 and is a regular speaker at their conference.
In Vishnu Puruna it is said that Sun traverses around the zodiac creating the 12 rasis destroying darkness and ignorance. The 12 rasis are presided by adityas and they carry the triple energy (three vedas) of the ultimate preserver of the universe Vishnu, who is known as the Purusha, the cosmic spirit. The adityas are not alone when they move around in the chariot, they are accompanied by troupe consisting of sages eulogising the Vedas, gandharvas singing, apsaras dancing, yakshas trimming the reins of the chariot, nagas harnessing the steeds, and the rakshsahas attending on the steps. The purpose of a person is shown by the placement of the Sun in the horoscope. This is based on the concept of Dvadasa Adityas (12 adityas) taught to me by my Jyotish Guru Pandit Sanjay Rath. The adityas are the sons of Aditi and Sage Kashyapa. Aditi means infinite or boundless and the Adityas born out of Aditi reflect this limitless energy as they bestow us with abundance. For judgement of results, the aditya of the house in which the Sun is placed shows the basic impulse or the true nature of an individual. The aditya representing the sign in which the Sun is placed reflects the outer manifestation of results. When the Sun associates with the lagna, the lagna lord or atma karaka, the purpose of the soul is strengthened and there is a true calling. In the final analysis, one has to look at the Sun’s dignity, afflictions, yoga and the nakshatra placement to make a call.
Twelve Adityas Dhata is founder or creator and is represented by the form of Brahma. He has the right knowledge and good karma; he is a perfectionist and shows creative ability and leadership. He blesses us with intelligence and good health. He is worshipped by with the Savitur Gayatri mantra for guiding the intellect and doing good karma. His mantra is the OM and he keeps his word. Mesa rasi or Aries has the energy of Dhata Aditya. The person with Sun in Aries or the first house is very creative, an idealist who wants to change the existing order of the world. A well supported Sun makes a good leader. He believes in doing good work, earning merit and believes in being his word. However, if the Sun is afflicted by aspects or conjunction, the person can be egotist and self-destructive. Signs Present on the Thumb YAVA or the barley sign, (fig 2.a) is an elongated island like sign, seen between the two phalanges of the Thumb. When well formed, without any break, it is a good sign. Th e owners of this mark, generally have good education, without Fig.2 much obstacles and financial security is assured throughout life. Taken along with other main lines without major defects, it ensures the subject with happy life.
Defects like a break, (fig 2.b) wavy line, chained lines between the two phalanges of the thumb, hints to - struggles in life.
