SITE ANALYSIS Site : EMS Project Location : Kuha, Ahmedabad Area : 300 sq mts per floor
The major observations of the site are:
Interpretation of observations in concept:
- The building is a G+2 structure with open plan.
- As the grid is very overpowering and flexible, removal and addition of levels becomes very challenging.
- There are three major materials - RCC, Brick and MS I-sections used as beams and columns - The building has a modularity in the form of grid of 4.8*3.6 meters which is followed all over the building. - The front facade is of glass and faces towards North direction which creates transparency and visual connection. - There is a water body on the ground floor which acts as a backdrop for actiities happening on the floor.
- The areas extruding outside on the North facade can be used for ancilliary activities. - The water body on the ground floor is a good view for the people working inside. It can become a backdrop for any outside activity. - The terrace space on second floor can be useful for many activities. - The planning of the space is done in a way that there is no overlapping of any activity. - Since there is an existing grid, it can be very useful to generate some particular pattern and play with volumetric changes. - As there is an open plan, the possibility of creating space within a space inreases and the circulation can be controlled in whichever way desired.
