The studio focuses on Hospitality design where my site is located on riverside of Gajoldoba, West Bengal. As the site is known as Birds' Paradise, I took gliding as my concept to design resort which gives visitors experience of floating in the sky. The idea of gliding in one space to another and also within the space is shown through the use of ramps and spaces at different levels. The use of different roofs like butterfly roof and pitch roof shows the level of closure that space communicates with the user according to its functionality purposes.

Spa - Concept diagram
The spa is oriented in the direction of the lake to make one feel secluded and peaceful. The idea was to make the visitor experience the calmness of the place. Taking the visitor from the narrow entrance to a wide open courtyard space which overlooks to the pool and the lake. So when one is entered in the spa, there is transition experienced by the visitor from the outer site space to somewhere private and serene space where one can have massage alongside greens. One can also have healthy snacks at the health cafe and relax on hammock while looking at pool.

Cottage - Concept diagram
The cottage is planned in such a way that it splits into different levels which helps in creating a playful seamless journey from one space to the other space. The idea of making the visitor experience the path while moving to the other space is emphasized by the creating ramps which adds seamless transition. The staggered level of functionality brings more dynamism into the cottage which makes the spaces more interactive. The visitor is made to go to the terrace garden to look at the birds flying over the lake. Also, the cottage sectional profile is made in resemble to gliding state of the bird.

The studio was to design an artist's residency at riverfront, ahmedabad. The process was to design from inside and then considering the surrounding context. The Artists Residency consists of 12 different artists coming together in a space where they have their own individual studio and workshop area. All individual artist studio are considered as a kit of parts in order to make clusters, which come together to make a narrative space where all the artists can interact which each other and experience differently in their own private studio space. Ground floor consists of all public areas that allows studios to have view.

Why any artist will join this Artist’s Residency? Spaces where all artists come together to showcase their art. Interactive enough to collabrate and share their knowlegde. Each artist requires different kind of spaces to create their kind of art. Interactive spaces where the thoughts/ideas blends into the art. Exhibition space itself is a performative narration of their art, weekly or monthly the artists can perform their art. Free flow connective spaces to each studio and diverging it into different workshops, cafe, library which are more active spaces to get the artist their mindspace.
For many artists, to be able to spend time in a quiet and nuturing enviornment where one can focus on creative work.

PERFORMATIVE NARRATION
What is the vision? All the artist coming together are performative, visual and literature artists. Every artist needs their own mindspace to think/express art out of their thoughts/ideas. The notion behind this Artist Residency is to create a performative narration through their art. The art becoming a spatial expression of their space. Art be the part of the space, not space becoming the constraint for doing art.
COLLABORATIVE ART
My vision is collaborative support system for artists to develop, manifest, and communicate their visionary work. My principal intention is to nurture the arts and encourage a transformational experience. The mission is to facilitate the creative and inspiration process. Artist Residency should give artists the opportunity to live and work outside of their usual environments, providing them with time to reflect, research, or produce work. How the stress-free environment should influenced them practice and help them adopt a more solitary approach to working.

SECTIONAL PERSPECTIVE
The studio aimed at designing an exhibition through a system approach using the 965 theory of emotions, expressions and experiences. The brief is to curate exhibition for Studio Smitamoksh at Hurwitz gallery. After understanding their philosophy, materials that they use and motifs like cow, lotus, fish, banana leaf which they mostly use in their artwork - I associate their work with prayer and impressions of water waves on sand – like it resonates in one’s mind when one sees their artwork and leaves a very strong impression of it.. with its colour or being it intricate details combining threads and wood… together by evoking consciousness of people. My notion here is to make one feel peaceful and bring out the message that studio smitamoksh is all about… which I feel is – “The interaction of different natural elements coming together as in a whole composition makes one wonder and feel lost in its story of calmness.”

Over here, I’ve planned the journey of visitors by segregating the placement of artworks according to the sections of different experience. Dividing the journey into 3 parts which consists of “swagaat, deep, darshan” where ‘Chandra-chandra’, introduction of studio will be there. 2nd – dhyey, dhyan, arth - so after looking at the main product ludo and wooden carpet, one will understand the meaning and actual crucks of studio smitamoksh. 3rd - subodh and anand where one will actually feel ‘nature’ with joy of rain.

This is the relation where artworks, emotions and interventions come together. So, by identifying these kinds of elements in each rasa, I picked up a few elements which relates to the studio and has implemented it in my design. Over here, this is the whole flowchart or sequence diagram where I’ve mapped out the sequence of products to be displayed in certain zone and the supporting sensorial elements that will help in enhancing this products and space.

Exterior Intervention - Create your own story
So, this is what I was talking about zen transition which makes this narrow way that lead to the other zone. Here, in shringar rasa, I’ve used mirrors on fabric ceiling to enhance the space by reflecting the wooden carpet and ludo kept under it. And curtains are used in such a way that one cannot see what is beyond that space to kind of create curiosity.
Rendered layout
After exiting the gallery on the exterior side I’ve tried creating storyboard intervention. By knowing the story of studio smitamoksh inside, now its time that with the help of the same motifs..one can make their own story by just pasting magnet motifs on magnetic board..

INTANGIBLE
- Taking geomtry of it. - Diagonal of penrose or its edges So, there is transformation of module vertically and horizontally by modulating edges and there is transformation of grid by shifting of vertices. And while these, no other module is similar. It changes independently with same technique of transformation.
TANGIBLE
INTANGIBLE Vertically modules don’t affect other but horizontally, it fixes itself with other one and also changes, Edges modulates according to sizes Ground to space.

The studio focuses on designing an office space with all working drawings and understanding of materials in interior spaces. The process started with choosing our own client and understand their office hierarchy and working pattern. After which, material board and layouts were made considering their work time and space functionality. Also, designed and detailed furniture pieces like storage, reception table and structured partition.
