MOTIVATION

My passion is to transform creative ideas into innovative design concepts.

As a concept designer, I constantly try to realize designs environments, which combine technological with artistic, cultural and urban trends. With my passion and my extensive knowledge in the area, I will find creative solutions and bring resourceful detail to screen and exhibition design concepts.

My profession is to produce innovative concept ideas in the creative sector.

During the past years, I have worked as a freelance curator and designer, always under conflicting deadlines. My projects range from user interface designs to virtual reality videos. With a strong background in Adobe CC and self-motivated conceptualization skills, I will bring optimizing workflows and a new visual experience to concepts ranging from service design to exhibition design. My approach is interdisciplinary combining commercial and artistic composition strategies. I have focused on graphical illustrations and motion graphics in my recent project ‘Seven Movements’. Developing this project, I got inspired by China’s urban areas, and I created illustrations based on vector graphics. Also, I constructed a 360 degrees 2D Animation, which users can view through VR goggles (Virtual Reality). Working at Screen Interaction, I will help the team with my expertise in design and production of such graphics and video environments.

My Mission is to launch creative thinking in multicultural settings.

3

I have worked on projects in international teams in Shanghai, Berlin, Maastricht, and Seoul. In particular, through my experiences in Shanghai and Seoul, I have shaped my understanding of commercial, cultural and artistic trends. There, I have worked on design projects with people of different backgrounds and communicated in various languages. As a result, I developed an analytical mind and a creative team spirit. With these skills, I will hit the ground running creating a positive atmosphere at work and supporting my colleagues with constructive criticism. I would appreciate the opportunity to meet with you to discuss how my qualifications will help your company exceed its expectations for success.

Looking forward,

Victor

SEVEN MOVEMENTS is an exhibition presented at Eigenheim Gallery Weimar in November 2015. The exhibition consists of four parts: Texts, Illustrations, an Installation with a virtual reality video and a performance piece. All parts build on each other. The illustrations for instance are an interpretation of the texts and the virtual reality video is an interpretation of the illustrations and the performance summarizes all parts of the exhibition.

The performance and the virtual reality video are both accompanied by music, which was especially composed for the exhibition by Eli Oshejack, a Shanghai based sound designer and artist.

The four parts also express the centuries old Chinese tradition of passing on and combine ancient Taoist philosophy with a contemporary dystopian view on technological acceleration. In addition to that interpersonal dialogues embody the connector and guide between the separate objects. These dialogues also have the task to highlight some connections between Chinese philosophy and traditions and transpose them into our contemporary three-dimensional world.

SCENARIO

PERSONA

This is Aaron Kent! - 26 years old - American - Professional dancer

Aaron gets a lot of inspiration for his choreographies from art, and he visits art exhibitions very frequently. Today he visits an exhibition with a virtual reality simulation on display. The presented VR world consists of 2D vector graphics with moving elements and dancing silhouettes. The VR world reminds him of the 1980s cyberpunk novels such as Neuromancer and Snow Crash. Inspired by the visuals experience he movements, which mimic the makes a new choreography movement of objects within the with many staccato VR world.

SCHERZO GRANDIOSO CONCERT - PERFORMANCE - VIRTUAL REALITY VIDEO

12

Scherzo Grandioso is a performance which combines a virtual reality video with a live projection mapping onto a dancers body. Part of the projected video is a black & white vector graphic video and sequences of passing landscapes. The footage of the landscapes was filmed in Iceland. These uncanny landscapes are shown through the windows of a car and the performer

is the spectator through his tableau vivants. His mind is travelling with the landscapes and his body is reacting to his view. The performance is accompanied by J. Maksymiuk’s piece of the same name and played live during the performance by the pianist duo Anna Lysenko and Mai Shinada.

Goal: Users receive insight

from the visual infographics explaining the health impact of air pollution in Shanghai. The screen design is a visualization of the interactive installation with a PN2.5 sensor and Arduino and Processing.

My Role: I created the

wireframes, prototypes, and UI design as well as the installation setup.

Result: The prototype has

been exhibited at the Tongji Design and Innovation Center.

Within the wearable a PN2.5 sensor is connected to ARDUINO UNO. The sensor measures the amount of dust particles in the air and sends signals to ARDUINO, which translates the signals into numeric values.

SCENARIO Zhou Wei takes the subway from the outskirts of Hongkou District to the People’s Square in Shanghai every morning and evening during rush hour. Every day he spends approx two hours on the subway. During that time the subway is extremely packed. So that there is just enough space to watch the display on a smartphone. Li Wei opens the Dust Till Dawn App and enjoys the short interaction sequences of video, image, sound and text, which are easy to understand.

360 Degree VR Environment

Goal: Dust Till Dawn is an

interactive e-storybook in nine chapters. The in smartphones integrated accelerometer and gyroscope control motion and position within the VR world. Through tilting and swiping the content of each chapter can be accessed including image, video and text.

My Role: As a UX/UI

designer I created the IA and researched visual composition combinations of image, video and text, produced user flows and VR interface design.

Result: The user interfaced

design was presented as part of the Dust Till Dawn exhibition at LĂœB Art Space Berlin.
