Dear Friend, As you will see in the pages of our 2014-2015 Annual Report, Volunteers of America is an organization on the move. You will also see that this has been a year of many achievements. During the past year, our organization changed its name from Volunteers of America of Kentucky to Volunteers of America Mid-States to better reflect the services we provide across a multi-state region, including Kentucky, Tennessee, Southern Indiana, West Virginia and Southern Ohio. We welcomed a new President/CEO, as well as expanded our HIV prevention and veterans services. This has been a period of transition as our organization increases our capacity as a healthcare partner and provider of choice. By the end of fiscal year 2016 we aim to become a behavioral health services organization, allowing us to expand our clinical services to serve the growing number of people struggling with the disease of addiction. We have witnessed addiction overcome our communities, affirming that this disease knows no boundaries and reaches across all cultural, social and economic divides. What has not changed is our devotion to our five core values – commitment, compassion, diversity, integrity and justice – and the quality of the services we provide to the 20,000 people we serve across our five-state region each year. These values guide how we deliver services to our community’s most vulnerable families and individuals, as well as how we engage the community and steward your support. With your continued support we are prepared to serve the men, women and young children who need our help the most. Thank you for all that you have helped us accomplish over this past year to create positive change in the lives of individuals and communities through our ministry of service.

Jennifer Hancock Carl L. Williams President/CEO Board of Directors Chair

Meet our dedicated volunteers from the Mayor’s Week of Service in Louisville, Kentucky. Nearly 100 volunteers from Walgreens, Brown-Forman and GE came together to work all day beautifying our Shelby Street Clinical Campus. Walgreens, our 2015 Community Partner of the Year, has dedicated over 240 volunteer hours this year, and also created several community partnerships within our HIV Services. We cannot do the work we do without the support from our compassionate volunteers across our region every year.
