In 1966, Vincent Massey Collegiate Institute won the national championship of the CBC’s “Reach For The Top” and was the first high school in Canada to do that twice$.again in 1978.
Massey’s team trounced Stephen Harper’s Richview In March, 1978, Vincent Massey played against Richview Collegiate Institute which featured a young Stephen Harper in the first game of the Etobicoke series. VMCI won easily by a score of 445-160, with Mr. Harper scoring 80 points for Richview Collegiate in his only appearance on the show. Massey’s 1978 team consisted of John Egan, Jim Rogers, Rachel Fernandez and Dino Zincone, Massey’s leading scorer, who now practices as a family physician in Seguin, Texas. (Continued on Page 20.)
