Titanic Scrapbook

April 9, 1912 Tomorrow I leave from Southhampton, England to go visit my parents George W. Allen and my mom Lydia McMillan in my hometown of St.Louis, Missouri . My father is very busy as a judge for a murder trial. My mother is going to help me pack my belongings so I can move back to England. I was so excited when the British physician, Dr. James B. Mennell, had asked me to marry him. I thought I would have been married before I was 29. He bought my ticket home so I could bring all my belongings to live with him after we are married. He also paid for my aunt, Mrs Edward Scott Robert , and her cousin, Georgette Alexandra Madill to accompany me on the trip. Our maid, Emilie Kreuchen also is coming to carry our bags and tidy our room. I may have brought more than I needed with me. I will share cabin B-5 with my cousin and my aunt will be across the hall in cabin B3. Elizabeth Walton Allen
