To reduce the impact of freight on your store cost, we have reduced the size of our main solar item box by over 35%! In calculating estimates on freight to various parts of the country, many of our customers will notice a significant decrease in their freight percentage.
How did we do it?

To pack and print more efficiently, we had been using one box to accommodate items that used both the cylinder base stand and the 3-prong basket stand. The items using the wider stand forced the box to accommodate a larger size. Our glass artists made some small changes to the way the Twist Pods, Flame Pods and Fiddle Tops were made so they could be adapted to our cylinder stand. This change took 2 inches off the width of our box! We also shortened the top section of the cylinder stand to reduce the length of the box by over 2 inches.

Also, we have held our product pricing since 2009, and we wanted to find a way to reduce our costs rather than change the $20 wholesale price of these items. Beginning this summer, many of our solar items will have a Solar Stand warranty information box printed on them to inform the consumer of our 30-day free replacement program. Also inside of the box, there will be a document that will enable the purchaser of the product to order a replacement solar stand directly from us, or enroll in an optional 4-year replacement plan for the stand.
