Mayor's Musings

The Pure Project Brewing group has launched operations in Vista! The 15-Barrel Brewhouse and tap room are the newest additions to their family. With a growing number of breweries in the area Mat Robar, Jesse Pine, and Winslow Sawyer, co-founders of Pure Project Brewing, agree that Vista was the ideal location for their expansion! Pure Project Brewing started out as an idea between friends, an idea that took them on a journey from production in Costa Rica to here in San Diego County. They began production in a Mira-Mar brewer ignitor program 6 years ago. Their goal was to make a sustainable, ingredient-centric, quality brew for their community. The group is committed to donating 1% of top-line sales to environmental organizations that align with their vision. While keeping with their mission their popularity grew and soon they found that each and every production release was immediately sold out, this meant supply would need to increase and so would their space! Now Pure Project Brewing is achieving that expansion here in Vista. Their new 14,000 SQ FT space is an ideal location for setting up headquarters along the Hops Highway. The group can watch the process from grain to grass all under one roof making for a natural environment of collaboration and experimentation! The move to Vista has provided a new sense of connection and community within their ranks. The Vista Chamber of Commerce has extended invitations to events like the Vista Strawberry Festival making the transition into the community one of ease. In addition to corporate spaces and production the property in Vista also hosts a tap room. Guests can taste fan favorites, new releases, and the cherished beer slushie! With new releases and slushies recipes changing each week there is always a reason to stop in. Weekly releases allow for the freshest ingredients to be incorporated at the most optimal time, be on the lookout for the “Home for the Holihaze” brew set to release this winter! On weekends you can find food trucks, there is a free delivery collaboration with Leucadia Pizza, and guests are always welcome to bring in their own food. The tap room is family and pet friendly, so bring your entire crew! The tap room is also a great location for private and corporate events. With substantial outdoor and indoor space, the tap room can accommodate 100 occupants. The west facing patio and indoor plants make this an inviting environment for all types of events. Consider reaching out to events@purebrewing. org to book their space! If you are looking for a holiday gift, try one of their monthly subscriptions that are delivered overnight to anywhere in California and Nevada, subscriptions can be purchased on their website.

Stop by and visit the tap room, Monday-Thursday 3p - 9 pm, Friday 3 pm -10 pm, Saturday 11 am- 10 pm, Sunday 11 am - 8 pm at 1305 Hot Spring Way, Vista, CA 92081. Be sure to follow Pure Project Brewing on social media to see upcoming holiday selections and events!

Let’s Shop & Dine Vista!

This holiday season we should take time to celebrate with our family and friends and to explore Vista. Stroll throughout downtown Vista where locally owned businesses have much to offer for the holidays. Our downtown areas is filled with unique small businesses that have much to offer. Let’s support our small businesses and do our shopping and dining in Vista.

Every dollar spent at local businesses in Vista directly supports jobs and our local economy. By shopping in our city, we ensure that our unique downtown remains thriving, successful, and vibrant. The benefits to a community when residents buy goods and services from local businesses are clear. These are the most significant benefits we see when residents support businesses in Vista: • stimulates the local economy and keeps more money in the community; • creates and sustains employment opportunities for residents to work closer to home; • allows goods and services you need and want to be offered nearby; • keeps sales tax dollars in Vista to help support community programs such as senior and youth programs, and fire and law enforcement services; and • fosters a community that cares and invests in itself.

I’m proud of all our businesses and employees in Vista for the strength and resolve they have shown in the face of such challenging times. On Small Business Saturday on November 27, let’s show our support by shopping and dining Vista! Judy
