In midwinter, there’s plenty of space on the trails of Ylläs and an international ambience can be sensed in the villages.

Top tip: Ride a snowmobile to the top of Kuertunturi fell

In midwinter, temperatures sometimes drop so low that going outside seems unpleasant. Although hard to believe, it’s usually a lot warmer up the fell. The top of Kuertunturi fell is accessible on a snowmobile – the trail is quite demanding but the views over the snowy landscapes reward the effort.
