As well as a mainline railway station and bus and coach stations, there’s a boat service to take you in and out of the city along the picturesque Fal River. Truro has the city at its heart but the rural district extends to some of Cornwall’s most beautiful villages, towns and hamlets, including Philleigh down the Fal on the Roseland Peninsula, and St Agnes on Cornwall’s north coast. Lemon Quay, right In the city centre, off historic Lemon Street, is the venue for festivals, outdoor events and regular food and craft markets, and there are smaller performance venues on the outskirts of the city.
ARTS AND CULTURE As well as its prospering art gallery community, Truro has the hugely engaging Royal Cornwall Museum, telling stories of the Cornish and their fascinating history with permanent collections and a rolling programme of exhibitions.
