A network of footpaths and cycle ways connect through the Parkes township including from the south at the new hospital, east through PAC Park, north to Webb Street via Wellington Road and back to Memorial Hill via Northparkes Sporting precinct.
Popular locations in Parkes include the centrally located leafy space in the centre of town, Cooke Park, and the well-known rest stop and recreational area Kelly Reserve, located on the Newell Highway north of town. Lions Park on the Orange Road also provides a shady play space or rest stop with toilets and BBQ areas.
