Agritourism is a huge component of our overall visitor experience, and one of Owensboro’s most beautiful hidden gems is Western Kentucky Botanical Garden, located right in the heart of the city. Walking through WKBG is like being transported to a scene out of “The Secret Garden”—a magical place brimming with roses, fruits and berries, daylilies, herbs, Weeping Willows, gazebos, painted walking paths, koi ponds and so, so much more. The majestic entrance at the WeatherBerry is the perfect start.
REID'S ORCHARD
In operation for over 140 years, you can find hundreds of acres of apples, peaches, strawberries, blackberries, pears and vegetables of all kinds at this magnificent family-run orchard. Sitting on the edge of Owensboro city limits, you can pick apples from the trees, pumpkins from the patch, and flowers from the garden. Visit the onsite store for some delicious goodies and take your kids to the Reidland Play Area for some outdoor fun.
TRUNNELL'S FARM MARKET
Enjoy a fun, outdoor adventure or one of the many events held yearround on this beautiful 1,600-acre farm. From the rolling hills that make up the land to the thousands of sunflowers that bloom in the fall, this is an experience you just can’t get in the city. Plus the kids can play all day long at the Family Fun Acre.
