Carnival in Malta and Gozo 12.02. –16.02.2010 – Around the islands Major events in Valletta and Nadur (Gozo) February brings with it carnival week, which takes on a traditional flavour, including extravagantly-coloured floats perched on lorries, children in fancy costumes as well as Malta’s main nightlife centre, Paceville, welcoming late night carnival revellers to its clubs and bars. The heart of the action is Valletta, though various towns and villages across the Island have their own festivities. Carnival in Nadur, Gozo, takes on a particularly comic and macabre tone with its spontaneous night-time carnival. Traditional carnival sweets are a firm favourite, and the love of good food prevails. Carnival week is a time to let your hair down and go with the flow – ideal for those who enjoy a good party. www.maltaculture.com
